Aides to President Barack Obama are putting the final touches on a new strategy to help Democrats recover from a brutal August recess by specifying what Obama wants to see in a compromise health care deal and directly confronting other trouble spots, West Wing officials tell POLITICO.
Obama is considering detailing his health-care demands in a major speech as soon as next week, when Congress returns from the August recess. And although House leaders have said their members will demand the inclusion of a public insurance option, Obama has no plans to insist on it himself, the officials said.
Were entering a new season, senior adviser David Axelrod said in a telephone interview. Its time to synthesize and harmonize these strands and get this done. Were confident that we can do that. But obviously it is a different phase. Were going to approach it in a different way. The president is going to be very active.

That Van Jones is one scary ahole.
I thought the ravenous liberals in the House already said NO public option NO health-care reformation.
And I do not believe for one minute someone is not going to slip in fine print that can judicially be legislated ‘public option’.
Last week there being discussed a plan about having co-ops instead of the public-option plan. Same pig with different lip-stick.
Our President through his own legislation has admitted he is either a Socialist at best or a Marxist at worst. I have a feeling he is a Marxist that is masking as a Socialist.
Don’t believe it. Don’t listen to a word he says. Don’t listen to the lying leaders in Congress. Do not let up the pressure.
NO BILL!
There is NOTHING about this government I trust and that’s been true for 20 years. They will not pass anything that’s a benefit for you. They will only pass something that will be done to you.
No. He will just ‘change’ the wording....
That Van Jones is one scary ahole.

And my deepest wish is that he will ‘get vanned’.
In other words, there will still be a public option, it just won't be CALLED a public option. So we'll have another 1200 page bill to comb through to find it.
Your assessment is correct.
Great.
NOW GET THE F*** OUT OF MY KIDS’ SCHOOLS.
Bite me, 0bummer.
Sorry folks, I’d like to talk but need to go to the DU board and watch the meltdown.
Too little, too late.
Is this the thread you are thinking of....

STATE SENATOR Obama Tried the Same Rhetoric in Sneak Health “Trojan Horse” Through Illinois Senate

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Back in 2004, Barack Obama was an Illinois State Senator, and an announced candidate for the US Senate. The future POTUS introduced a health care bill to revolutionize the health insurance industry in his state, kind of a proto-Obamacare bill.
The Republican opposition realized the way the bill was written it was just a Trojan horse leading to a state-run insurance company that would put private insurers in Illinois out of business and eventually a single-payer system (sound familiar?) Just before the vote, Obama debated the bill with State Senator Peter Roskam (now in Congress) on the floor of the State Senate (listen to the debate below)
What is truly incredible is that the Illinois health care debate was almost a dry run for the national debate we are having today.
You're telling me. And the mainstream media just ignores all of it. Have to hand it to Beck; he's not backing down.
Its a headfake. They will plant the seeds of socialism in whatever watered down “bipartisan” bill that does pass.
I would rather dive head first into a full septic tank.
They will call it a co-op, which is STILL a Government Public Option. Obama wants a Single Payer system, we all know that. The ENTIRE bill is total crap. You can call a piece of poo ice cream but it’s still a piece of poo
