Just as the Obama administration tries to reassure people that the government can manage the health-care system more competently than what we have now, one of its single-payer systems demonstrates exactly what we can expect from ObamaCare. The VA mistakenly informed 1200 veterans that they have amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), better known as Lou Gehrigs disease, a 100% fatal condition. They blamed it on a coding error (via JWF):
At least 1,200 veterans across the country have been mistakenly told by the Veterans Administration that they suffer from a fatal neurological disease.
One of the leaders of a Gulf War veterans group says panicked veterans from Alabama, Florida, Kansas, North Carolina, West Virginia and Wyoming have contacted the group about the error.
Denise Nichols, the vice president of the National Gulf War Resource Center, says the VA is blaming a coding error for the mistake.

Did they get a copy of the Death Book with their diagnosis?
this story comes out after the VA starts to distribute the “end of life” document that was banned under the Bush Administration that Obama has now allowed to start being distributed.
Hopefully none of them ate their gun after the news.
Did they get a copy of the Death Book with their diagnosis?
I’ll bet that really got those 1200 vets all wee weed up.
It'll be 100% fatal to everyone in it.
Nope.. I am on the VA system.. and all this news scares the HELL out of me.
I wouldn’t wish ALS on anyone. You basically turn into nothing.
And the left keeps using the VA hospitals as an example of perfect government health care.
probably...
**I wouldnt wish ALS on anyone. You basically turn into nothing.**
Turn into nothing on the OUTSIDE... but the part of you that MAKES you ...YOU.. doesn’t change until the very end.
a Hemi engine in a truck with no Transmission or rearend.
My late husband was told by the VA that he had stomach cancer. He was terrified, as someone he knew had just died from it, only a few months after diagnosis.
Turns out he had an ulcer.
For many, many reasons, I would not trust the care of my loved one to the VA.
The urge to do so would be strong, especially if you have ever seen anyone die from this terrible disease. Gradual paralysis, eventually just lying in bed unable to speak but you can tell they are still in their by looking at their eyes. Simply an awful way to die and these dumb a**es tell 1200 people they have it!
My mom died of ALS,it’s a terrible disease.
That was my very first thought. Just imagine the hopelessness those folks must have felt.
My Mother passed away from ALS in March 2008. She went relatively quick, only 2.5 years. I know another guy that lingered for 9 years. His last working muscle that he controlled was one eyelid. He communicated with that one eyelid. He finally asked to be taken off of a breather and feeding tube.
My dad went to the VA for a checkup...did all the tests on his prostate...but he never was told he had cancer...until four years after the fact..by this time he was at stage 4...I wouldn’t trust the VA either....
