My dad went to the VA for a checkup...did all the tests on his prostate...but he never was told he had cancer...until four years after the fact..by this time he was at stage 4...I wouldn’t trust the VA either....

And yet, the VA isn't the worst. My mother was told by her GP that all her aches, and pains and even lumps were just because she was too heavy. So, on a day trip to Minneapolis, she dropped by the VA hospital (WAVE/WWII) and they didn't let her go home until the surgeon could cut out as much cancer as possible.

Choice is what matters, the closed medical community in small towns can be deadly too.
