The Obama White House is behind a cynical, coldly calculated political effort to erase the meaning of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks from the American psyche and convert Sept. 11 into a day of leftist celebration and statist idolatry.
This effort to reshape the American psyche has nothing to do with healing the nation and everything to do with easing the nation along in the ongoing radical transformation of America that President Obama promised during last year's election campaign. The president signed into law a measure in April that designated Sept. 11 as a National Day of Service, but it's not likely many lawmakers thought this meant that day was going to be turned into a celebration of ethanol, carbon emission controls, and radical community organizing.
The administration's plans were outlined in an Aug. 11 White House-sponsored teleconference call run by Obama ally Lennox Yearwood, president of the Hip Hop Caucus, and Liv Havstad, the group's senior vice president of strategic partnerships and programs.
Yearwood, who uses the honorific "Reverend" before his name, has been in the news in recent years, usually for getting arrested. After Democrats took back Congress, the rowdy activist was handcuffed outside a congressional hearing in September 2007 when Gen. David Petraeus was to testify. Yearwood told the "Democracy Now" radio program that he wanted to attend the hearing to hear Petraeus give his report. "I knew that when officers lie, soldiers die," he said.

Isn’t September 11th the start of the Muslim New Year? Golly gee whiz - what a co-winki-dink!
I don’t have an iPhone and if I did, I would not put his mugshot on it, or on my cell phone. Sorry
Here is what McCain said. Compare and contrast with the Odinga:
3. John McCain, September 11th 2001:
There are no words to describe adequately the enormity of these attacks on the United States or the depravity of those who are responsible for them.
Clearly, the organization and magnitude of these attacks required more than a few people to perpetrate. It will take some time to determine who they are, and who has supported their attacks on the United States. But we will find them out, and they will suffer the full, awesome measure of our justice.
Until then, we can only pray for the victims and their families, remain calm, and resolute, confident that America will never be cowed by terrorists, no matter how awful their acts, no matter how depraved their hearts.
These were not just crimes against the United States, they are acts of war. We will prevail in this war, as we have prevailed in the past. May God bless us in this trial, defend us, and make our justice swift and sure.
(NB He also followed up with this on the Senate floor on September 12th.)
4. Senator John McCain, September 11th 2008:
No American living then should ever forget the heroism that occurred in the skies above this field on September 11, 2001. It is believed that the terrorists on United Flight 93 may have intended to crash the airplane into the United States Capitol. Hundreds if not thousands of people would have been at work in that building when that fateful moment occurred, and been destroyed along with a beautiful symbol of our freedom. They and, very possibly I, owe our lives to the passengers who summoned the courage and love necessary to deny our depraved and hateful enemies their terrible triumph.
I have witnessed great courage and sacrifice for Americas sake, but none greater than the sacrifice of those good people who grasped the gravity of the moment, understood the threat, and decided to fight back at the cost of their lives.
I spoke at the memorial service for one of them, Mark Bingham. I acknowledged that few of us could say we loved our country as well as he and all the heroes of September 11 had. The only means we possess to thank them is to try to be as good an American as they were. We might fall well short of their standard, but there is honor in the effort.
In the Gospel of John it is written, Greater love hath no man than this: that a man lay down his life for his friends. Such was their love; a love so sublime that only Gods love surpasses it. I am in awe of it as much as I am in debt to it. May God bless their souls.
The magnitude of Hussein’s perversion wasn’t clear to very many people then. Now it is.
Everyone should hound their congresscritters to reverse this outrage.
What can you expect from a party that had a direct pipeline of Arab oil money flowing into its coffers last election cycle?
Hussein didn’t bow to the Saudi king purely out of love.
I returned the letter, with my point that those of us that volunteer will continue to do so, those who do not will also continue to do nothing.
The response back was "This is what is best for America".
Glad I didn't vote for the clown, he was a crappy governor, and is worse as a senator.
Sure am. A standard-issue commie with muzzie sympathies.
Please, Lord, deliver us from this man!
Wake up, America.
right, but sounds like this idiot has his own interpretation...
what is it supposed to be?

President Obama Unveils United We Serve,
Calls on All Americans to Commit to Meaningful Volunteer Service in Their Daily Lives
President encourages Americans to visit www.serve.gov to find and create service projects in their communities, share stories about projects theyre working on
WASHINGTON, DC Today, in a video message, President Obama unveiled United We Serve, an extended call to service challenging all Americans to help lay a new foundation for growth in this country by engaging in sustained, meaningful community service. The initiative will be led by the Corporation for National and Community Service, the federal agency dedicated to fostering service in communities across the country. Since his Inauguration, the President has called on all Americans to serve their communities and be a part of building a better future for our country.
The United We Serve summer initiative begins on June 22nd and runs through the National Day of Service and Remembrance on September 11th. The National Day of Service and Remembrance was created by the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, which President Obama signed in April to help encourage and facilitate community service across the country. During this summer, the President is renewing his call to all Americans to identify needs in their communities, engage in meaningful service to create change and stay engaged with those projects long after September. The Presidents call focuses on four key areas where everyone can have a continuing impact in their community: education, health, energy and the environment and community renewal. To create new service projects, to find service projects in their communities and to share stories about projects that are making a difference, Americans can visit the Corporations website, www.serve.gov.
President Obamas video was distributed via email by the Corporation for National and Community Service. View President Obamas full video message at www.serve.gov.
“The challenges we face are unprecedented in their size and scope, and we cannot rely on quick fixes or easy answers to put us on the road to recovery,” President Obama says in the video message. “In this new century, we need to a build a new foundation for economic growth in America. My Administration has already begun this work with dramatic new investments in education, health care and clean energy investments that will create new jobs and lay the foundation for lasting prosperity. But we cannot do this alone here in Washington
Economic recovery is as much about what you’re doing in your communities as what we’re doing in Washington and its going to take all of us, working together.”
The goal of United We Serve is to help make volunteerism and community service part of the daily lives of all Americans in order to help build a new foundation, one community at a time. Further details about the June 22nd kickoff are forthcoming
All networks should re-air video footage of 9-11-01 and then see what people think of DUh-bama's Day of (lip) "Service".
Oh, he’s very sane. He knows EXACTLY what he’s doing.
Its a 3 day weekend.
I agree. All I'm saying is that's the theory about MLK Day. What actually happens is another matter.
From Grist.org at the White House event announcing the Sept. 11 plot:The 20th century was defined by civil rights and The 21st century will be defined by clean energy, said Rev. Lennox Yearwood Jr., president of the Hip Hop Caucus. Future generations will measure us by our success in transitioning from a fossil fuel economy to a clean energy economy, and in the process building opportunity and prosperity for our most economically disenfranchised communities.
We have to convince our generation that this truly is our lunch-counter moment of the 21st century, said Yearwood, referring to the sit-ins held at segregated diners during the Civil Rights era.
The initiative will officially kick-off with a day of service on September 11, 2009part of the White Houses already announced United We Serve program. The Green the Block website has more information on local initiatives taking place around the country.
Obama has turned 9/11 over to the hate America 'no war for oil' crowd that has spent the past eight years supporting our terrorist enemies.
Look for the SRM to run stories about 0bama’s big speech, but NO STORIES showing planes crashing into buildings.
It’s being erased from our history, like Stalin erased the histories of the people he purged.
It’s supposed to be the typical Leftist technique of subverting history to suit current political ends.
They want us to forget the shock and horror of those days, but especially they dislike the unity we felt.
So you make it a different holiday celebrating something else, and in a generation the schoolkids won’t know what happened that day.
It’s like the FIRST WTC bombing, not many remember it.
Obama can call the day whatever he wants but the vast majority of Americans will Never Forget!
