Obama's Plan to Desecrate 9/11
The American Spectator ^ | August 24,2009 | Matthew Vadum

Posted on 08/24/2009 4:23:38 AM PDT by Scanian

The Obama White House is behind a cynical, coldly calculated political effort to erase the meaning of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks from the American psyche and convert Sept. 11 into a day of leftist celebration and statist idolatry.

This effort to reshape the American psyche has nothing to do with healing the nation and everything to do with easing the nation along in the ongoing radical transformation of America that President Obama promised during last year's election campaign. The president signed into law a measure in April that designated Sept. 11 as a National Day of Service, but it's not likely many lawmakers thought this meant that day was going to be turned into a celebration of ethanol, carbon emission controls, and radical community organizing.

The administration's plans were outlined in an Aug. 11 White House-sponsored teleconference call run by Obama ally Lennox Yearwood, president of the Hip Hop Caucus, and Liv Havstad, the group's senior vice president of strategic partnerships and programs.

Yearwood, who uses the honorific "Reverend" before his name, has been in the news in recent years, usually for getting arrested. After Democrats took back Congress, the rowdy activist was handcuffed outside a congressional hearing in September 2007 when Gen. David Petraeus was to testify. Yearwood told the "Democracy Now" radio program that he wanted to attend the hearing to hear Petraeus give his report. "I knew that when officers lie, soldiers die," he said.

They view Sept. 11 as a "Republican" day because it focuses the public on supposedly "Republican" issues like patriotism, national security, and terrorism.

And just who stopped the Dems from at least pretending to appear patriotic and to care about national security?

They're the ones who politicized 9/11 and tried to turn it into a political opportunity when they still had control of the Senate (before the 2002 elections). They are the ones who held the creation of the Dept of Homeland Security hostage by demanding some rather strong union protections for employees.

Yeah...we work OUR butts off to pay OUR taxes so those sorry, lowlife democrats can lay up on their butts and do nothing other than come up with more and more ways to bankrupt OUR country and run it into the ground!

It's a day for Americans to pledge their time to service, and to remember the outstanding work and compassion of the many people who formed together in the aftermath of the attacks.

And another thing:

Perverting the meaning of 9/11 from a day of remembrance and loss of one of the two worst assaults on our soil into a day of national servitude to ACORN and others makes about as much sense as using December 7 as a “National Day of Remembrance for the Birth of Barack Hussein Obama possibly someplace on Hawaii”.

See, it doesn’t make sense.

Those Dems were flying high in March when they introduced this and the Republicans who voted for it had s*t for brains. They all need to be tossed out.

I wouldn’t expect him to understand the feelings of a foreign nation and a tragedy that happened to it. I mean, Kenya never has had anything like 9-11.

If we sought PEACE with the muslim world, then we would be working to erradicate the radical muslim cultures around the world. The rest of the muslim world claims those people aren’t really muslims but don’t seem to be doing a single thing to stop them from calling it Islam.

Thanks. We really need to broaden our scope. That’s why 2010 not 2012 is so important. If we cannot seriously make progress in reversing this Congress, especially with all the destruction they’re doing, we’re toast and 2012 won’t matter.

As you probably know, Sean Hannity, FOX NEWS, was supposed to have had a special report Sunday, 9 Aug 09, but it never materialized. For whatever reason, they aired an episode that was done earlier in the week. Why was it pulled? Listening and watching the segments below of that proposed show will enlighten you as to just what is going on in America.

To everyone who thought the special about Obama was going to be on Hannity, it was taken off. Here are the segments. You’d better watch now before they are removed too.

Here are the 6 segments, if they haven’t been removed before you get to them.

SRES 245 IS

111th CONGRESS

1st Session

S. RES. 245

Recognizing September 11 as a ‘National Day of Service and Remembrance’.

IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES

August 6, 2009

Mr. SCHUMER (for himself, Mrs. GILLIBRAND, Mr. MENENDEZ, Mr. LAUTENBERG, Mr. CASEY, Mr. SPECTER, Mr. DODD, and Mr. LIEBERMAN) submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

RESOLUTION

Recognizing September 11 as a ‘National Day of Service and Remembrance’.

Whereas, on September 11, 2001, terrorists ruthlessly attacked the United States, leading to the tragic deaths and injuries of thousands of innocent United States citizens and other citizens from more than 90 different countries and territories;

Whereas in response to the attacks in New York City, Washington, DC, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania, firefighters, police officers, emergency medical technicians, physicians, nurses, military personnel, and other first responders immediately and without concern for their own well-being rose to service, in a heroic attempt to protect the lives of those still at risk, consequently saving thousands of men and women;

Whereas in the immediate aftermath of the attacks, thousands of recovery workers, including trades personnel, iron workers, equipment operators, and many others, joined with firemen, police officers, and military personnel to help to search for and recover victims lost in the terrorist attacks;

Whereas in the days, weeks, and months following the attacks, thousands of people in the United States and others spontaneously volunteered to help support the rescue and recovery efforts, braving both physical and emotional hardship;

Whereas many first responders, rescue and recovery workers, and volunteers, as well as survivors of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, continue to suffer from serious medical illnesses and emotional distress related to the physical and mental trauma of the 9/11 tragedy;

Whereas hundreds of thousands of brave men and women continue to serve every day, having answered the call to duty as members of the United States Armed Forces, with thousands having given their lives or suffered injury to defend our Nation’s security and prevent future terrorist attacks;

Whereas the entire Nation witnessed and shared in the tragedy of September 11, 2001, and in the immediate aftermath of the attacks became unified under a remarkable spirit of service and compassion that inspired and helped heal the Nation;

Whereas in the years immediately following the attacks of September 11, 2001, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics documented a marked increase in volunteerism among the people of the United States;

Whereas families of 9/11 victims, survivors, first responders, rescue and recovery workers, and volunteers called for Congress to pass legislation to formally authorize the establishment of September 11 as an annually recognized ‘National Day of Service and Remembrance’, and for the President of the United States to proclaim the day as such;

Whereas, in 2004, Congress unanimously passed H. Con. Res. 473, expressing the sense of Congress that it is appropriate to observe the anniversary of the attacks of September 11, 2001, with voluntary acts of service and compassion;

Whereas hundreds of thousands of people in the United States from all 50 States, as well as others who live in 170 different countries, annually observe the anniversary of the attacks of September 11, 2001, by personally engaging in service, good deeds, and other charitable acts; and

Whereas, on March 31, 2009, Congress passed the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, which included for the first time authorization and Federal recognition of September 11 as a ‘National Day of Service and Remembrance’, a bill signed into law on April 21, 2009, by President Barack Obama: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the Senate--

(1) calls upon all people in the United States to annually observe a ‘National Day of Service and Remembrance’, with appropriate and personal expressions of reflection, including performing good deeds, attending memorial and remembrance services, and voluntarily engaging in community service or other charitable activities of their own choosing in honor of those who lost their lives or were injured in the attacks of September 11, 2001, in tribute to those who rose to come to the aid of those in need, and in defense of our Nation; and

(2) urges all people in the United States to continue to live their lives throughout the year with the same spirit of unity, service, and compassion that was exhibited throughout the Nation following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

This goes back to how Obama, as the Flim Flam Man keeps our eye off the ball. His health care program is an example, as bad as it is, other stuff slips under as we get our attentions focused on health care.

From the other thread I see COLA will be reduced or zeroed for 2010 and 2011. Now I know this is an entitlement program, but for many seniors, this is their only source of income to get by.

Then another thread, cash for refrigerators after the abysmal cash for clunkers, taking money from your and mine pockets to others. All these little things get passed while we are torqued about health care.

Rush is reading about this now - due to the no COLA for SS. This can be seen as a ploy to get the senior citizens on health care, what he calls Cash for Caskets.

PS I changed my tag line in honor of the new Day of Service.

With the help of the Obama administration, the coalition is launching a public relations campaign under the radar of the mainstream media -- which remains almost uniformly terrified of criticizing the nation's first black president -- to try to change 9/11 from a day of reflection and remembrance to a day of activism, food banks, and community gardens.

"The organizing term is to 'go dark.' You don't tell the press, don't tell people you think will tell the press," said the source.

As if the MSM will bother to report this.
