Court Expected to Send Runaway Teen Home Despite Muslim Honor Killing Fears
Fox ^ | 8/20/09 | Joshua Rhett Miller

A 17-year-old girl who fled to Florida after converting from Islam to Christianity will almost certainly be forced to return home to Ohio, experts say -- despite her fears that she will become the victim of an honor killing for abandoning her parents' faith.

Rifqa Bary, who hitchhiked to an Ohio bus station earlier this month and took a charter bus to Orlando, remains in protective custody with Florida's Department of Children and Families. A judge is expected to rule Friday on the jurisdiction of the case, but several legal experts contacted by FOXNews.com say the girl is bound to be sent back to Ohio

If the judge rules to send her back she should stand up , announce “I will not let you sentence me to death this easy!” then walk up to the judge, slap his face and spit on him. She’s bound to get a few months for contempt at least.

I knew Chesler in the early eighties when she lived in Brooklyn. She was an uber-liberal-feminazi, one of the founders of that sub-cultural. She was also smart as can be and honest (at least with me).

I think that she changed because her Jewishness trumped all the other stuff and she realized the islamist threat to Israel. This, coupled with her natural proclivity to see all politics as gender driven has led her to the position she takes now.

“You’d think that someone would help her escape and go into hiding.”

This is where local Christians should be stepping up ....

I is a pity that she does not get more press.

She TRUSTED this so-called pastor who sold her out.

Always read the article first.

Rifqa fled to Florida after her parents, Mohamed and Aysha Bary, learned that she was baptized earlier this year without their knowledge. The parents reported her missing to Columbus Police on July 19. Weeks later, using cell phone and computer records, police tracked the girl to the Rev. Blake Lorenz, pastor of the Orlando-based Global Revolution Church. FOXNews.com's calls to Lorenz were not returned.

She is in protective custody. I suppose there may be a way but I would take an army of martyrs.

If the parents are this bad, why were they admitted to this country? Send them back.

Ridiculous. She’s almost an adult.

If her father murders her I’m gonna be upset.

The court is ridiculous I mean. She should be emancipated. If I were her I’d made a break for it.

She should have found a new home and just kept her mouth quiet. We live in dark times where rules lawyers are king. Prayers that nothing happen to her.

Protective custody!! LMAO.
She's in family services "custody." You don't even need to climb out the bathroom window to leave that. You can hobble out the door with your feet tied to your fanny and no one will notice or care.

Some states have 16 as the legal age of consent.

For intercourse with someone of roughly the same age, yes. For marriage, almost never.

Just goes to show - when your phone calls have to be untraceable, pay cash for prepaid phones and phone cards. Don't use e-mail from your PC - use SMS from the phone.

I may have been harsh on the pastor, but she was turned over to the authorities. I would have given her sanctuary and REFUSED to allow her to leave the safety and PROTECTION of the church. They took and are still taking a big RISK with this girls LIFE. Life & death here, no JOKE

Despite what has happened in this country with illegal aliens, there is no right of SANCTUARY in churches in this country.

Had the pastor tried to provide sanctuary to the girl my guess is that he would be in jail and she would be in the same circumstances that she is now.
