Cancer-stricken Sen. Kennedy asks state leaders for speedy process to replace him in Congress

BOSTON (AP) — A cancer-stricken Sen. Edward M. Kennedy has written a poignant letter to Massachusetts leaders asking that they change state law to allow a speedy replacement of him in Congress.

The note to Gov. Deval Patrick and the state's Senate president and House speaker acknowledges the state changed its succession law in 2004 to require a special election to fill any vacancy. At the time, legislative Democrats were concerned Republican Gov. Mitt Romney would be able to fill any vacancy created as Sen. John Kerry ran for president.

I can see him being brought into the Senate on a stretcher to vote for ObamaCare. The MSM will eat it up and the public will swoon.

Patrick said in a statement: "It's typical of Ted Kennedy to be thinking ahead and about the people of Massachusetts, when the rest of us are thinking about him."

Thinking ahead? Like when he let Mary Jo Kopechne die in the backseat of that car in Chappaquiddick while he paced around worried about his political future? As usual, Mary Jo was unavailable for comment.....

Yep. And he’s going to have to account for what he did with that time pretty soon.

I dread the day that old fatass dies.

The media will be nothing but non-stop, 24 hour, flowery, tear-jerking tributes to ‘One of the Greatest Senators in Human History’.

Bleeecchhh.

Teddy Bare’s ticket to hell will soon be punched. Grace by confession and repentance seems doubtful. A hard hearted man indeed who will temporary preoccupy Satan for a while.

The elderly are in full mode revolt against this legislation.

What do the young care about Ted Kennedy?

So I think it would be hyped to the hilt for the benefit of wavering Senators, but the public wouldn’t change much in their views.

The elderly are pretty sharp on points that go to their own self interests.

They have begun to figure out what is about to be done with them, and they are also seeing that the members of Congress and the executive branch have a special plan that will help them until their last breath, unlike the ordinary person.

And they are getting mad as you know what.

Typical kennedy...Change the laws to suit their desires and excesses. And now that there is no threat of a Republican being appointed, he wants to make it easier to get a rat in his place.

Amazing arrogance and most Massholes will not even get it.

So: It’s Vital that the people of Mass have Two voices in the Senate, to Speak FOR them, but he wants State Law changed, to CHEAT THEM OUT OF deciding through AN ELECTION, Who does the speaking/deciding For them...... Democracy: Democrat Style.

Not that it will make much of a difference in the end. This IS Massachusetts we're talking about.

A little experience with Glioblastoma brain cancer with family and friends. Because of the disease itself, along with the invasive treatments there is considerable damage. Speaking, reading, and writing always are affected, especially the only 40% who survive beyond the first year after diagnosis. If Teddy did, in fact, write or even dictate these letters, he is a miracle.

Yep. that’s why it would be nice for the GOP to hold onto the governorship of HI. Both of their US Senators are 80+ y/o.

What do the young care about Ted Kennedy?

Our wonderful education system has raised the Kennedy family into the pantheon of American nobility. His death will become a national day of mourning. The MSM will be gushing in its praise and every politician, including all of the former living Presidents and Obama, will lionize him at his funeral.

Is Princess Caroline still available to be annointed to the Senate?
