Just out of curiousity I have been watching AARP.com to see their stand regarding obamacare. For the last month, their site has been strongly pro-obamacare in many ways. Though not specifically by name, almost all of their space was dealing with "COUNTERING HEALTHCARE REFORM MYTHS" etc. So I go out there today and it is a much reduced emphasis. Now the site has several disclaimer articles about how they don't support any specific legislation along with some non related items.
I believe this is a sign that despite their words to the contrary, the mass flight of membership is really taking a toll. They are a business and their political stand is taking a bottom line toll on the business... as it should.
Keep up the good work out there and keep sending the message that Chicago style thuggary and Socialism is not going to stand!
You would never know it by watching that commercial on TV sponsored by AARP that shows an ambulance being cut off and blocked by evil dark vehicles and containing a pro-Obama care narrative.
AARP jumped the proverbial shark long ago, from the side of “genuinely looking out for seniors in a non-partisan way” to “just another left-wing lobby, with a bunch of imagery of seniors for wallpaper.” The ObamaCare fiasco just sets that change into bold relief.
Recall your history. AARP also endorsed that mess Hillary came up with during Willie’s first term. AARP has always been a statist organization. This time, though, they seem to be feeling the heat and are backing off a bit.
AARP: Union Thugs in walkers
The AARP will fully support whatever plan the Dems put forward. Take it to the bank.
The AARP is just covering the bases. While the site may have lessened its outward push, the TV ads continue — and they spout the same thing the website did. Just saw one this morning.
There was a post Monday that said AARP has lost 60,000 members over their support for ObamaCare.
I can’t wait for their next mail solicitation.
Gonna tape the return envelope to a brick in a box with “No HR3200” written on the outside.

It isn’t the numbers they should be concerned about (for now.) The long term damage to AARP is that a seious competitor will arise out of this.
AARP essentially has a monopoly. Become a senior, join AARP. Used to be as automatic as paying your taxes.
Once a true competing seniors organization emerges it will no longer be automatic. When people turn 50 (or their AARP renewal comes up) and they realize they have other options than AARP, that’s when they will really start to lose members (and money.)
I haven't seen it on the television in two days.
AARP is just another outlet for DNC propaganda.
AARP is just an off-shoot of the old American Association of Retired Teachers - a union benefit/pension advocacy group. They merged under one banner long ago.
I called this morning and hang on hold for about 20 minutes. Gave up and tried again about a hour later and finally got through but was told they couldn’t cancel my membership now as they were “updating” their computers and it would take awhile. Wonder if it wasn’t just a stalling tactic.

"When implemented, the complete lives system produces a priority curve on which individuals aged between roughly 15 and 40 years get the most substantial chance, whereas the youngest and oldest people get chances that are attenuated"---Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, Chief health-care policy adviser to President Barack Hussein Obama
AARP? Are you kidding me?
AARP invented socialism!
They've been walking a tightrope for years. Looks like they are finally about to fall off.
Couldn't happen to a finer bunch of liberal scumbags.
The loss of 60,000 members got their attention. Hasn’t changed their philosophy, just got their attention.
