Of course it’s that way. It’s been their plan all along. They don’t care about options that are offered up by the right. They want to ram it down our throats and hope it’s forgotten by the time 2010 roles around. And they also know that even if we take back the house and senate in 2010, Obama will veto any legislation that tries to correct the stuff they are going to put on us. This is going to get ugly down the road.

We’re almost $12T in debt now, projections for $2.12T record this year, and they continue happily on...they don’t get the words ‘budget’ ‘overrun’ nor ‘disastrous’ and they certainly don’t understand them together, nor will they take any responsibility whatsoever for them.

They are the disaster that needs to be cleaned up.

They’re blowing smoke, it’s a trial balloon, the WH and Harry Reid will have a very difficult time coaxing moderate dems to vote for a dem only bill, namely: Max Baucus, Kent Conrad, Byron Dorgan, Mary Landrieu, Blanche Lincoln, Evan Bayh, Ben Nelson, Bill Nelson, Mark Warner, Bob Casey, Claire McCaskill, Mark Pryor and Jim Webb. Then again, if they do pass a dem only bill the Repubs will win back the House and Senate next year on the promise of de-funding any “public option.”

Don’t need to override any Obama veto. If we elect a Conservative House and Senate, they can just refuse to fund the health stuff.

They can refuse to fund lots of things, like NPR, The Department of Education, EPA, ... Just eliminate their budgets.

That is, of course, if we elect a real *Conservative* Congress and not a bunch of wishy-washies who cave to the media like last time.

The plans should include MSA's with an emphasis on competition. I am relatively young and only go to the doctor once a year, I should pay for that out of pocket, but I use my insurance for routine visits. Catastrophic insurance should be the push. Not much discussion of that on the left side.

In Washington a budget “overrun” is a trivial thing, indeed. They simply and automatically rasie the debt limit and prestigitate sufficient newly printed money to cover the problem and bill the debt to our 40X great grandchildren who will pay for it slaving in the sodium mines on Mars.

There are 69 members of the House and 1 Senator who are members of the Democratic Socialist of America. That is what is wrong with Congress — Progressive Caucus = Socialist.
