Democrats see little chance for GOP cooperation on health care

WASHINGTON — Given hardening Republican opposition to congressional health care proposals, Democrats now say they see little chance for the minority's cooperation in approving any overhaul, and are increasingly focused on drawing support for a final plan from within their own ranks.
Top Democrats said Tuesday that their go-it-alone view was being shaped by what they saw as Republicans' purposely strident tone against health care legislation during this month's congressional recess, as well as remarks by leading Republicans that current proposals were flawed beyond repair.
The White House spokesman, Robert Gibbs, said of Republican lawmakers, "Only a handful seem interested in the type of comprehensive reform that so many people believe is necessary to ensure the principles and the goals that the president has laid out."
The Democratic shift may not make producing a final bill much easier. The party must still reconcile the views of moderate and conservative Democrats worried about the cost and scope of the legislation with those of more progressive lawmakers determined to win a government-run insurance option to compete with private insurers..........

That is what I have feared from the very beginning(that Obama didn’t care if he was a one termer). Obama is a full blown marxist and he doesn’t care if he destroys this country. In fact..it is looking more and more like that is his true intention. He is acting like an enemy within and his handmaidens in the democrat party and the media seem ready to assist him.
This is a historic moment in our nation’s history and sadly too many people are asleep.
Very dark days are ahead for our republic.

Kingston, NY — The natives are restless. The third shot of the “Second American Revolution” has been fired. History is being made. But just as with the first two shots, the third shot is not being heard.
America is seething. Not since the Civil War has anything like this happened. But the protests are either being intentionally downplayed or ignorantly misinterpreted.
The first shot was fired on April 15, 2009. Over 700 anti-tax rallies and “Tea Parties” erupted nationwide. Rather than acknowledge their significance, the general media either ignored or ridiculed both protests and protestors, playing on “tea bagging” for its sexual innuendo.
Initially President Obama said he was unaware of the tea parties. The White House later warned they could “mutate” into something “unhealthy.”
Shot #2 was fired on the Fourth of July, when throngs of citizens across the nation gathered to again protest “taxation without representation.” And as before, the demonstrations were branded right-wing mischief and dismissed.

1. Obama wins the election. Done.
2. Obama takes over the banks. Done (stimulus bill)
3. Obama takes over the largest auto manufacturer left. Done. GM
4. Obama takes over energy. Almost done. Cap and Trade.
5. Obama takes over health care. In progress.
6. Obama takes over private market employment compensation. In progress. CEO compensation -- maximum wage to follow.
7. Obama passes amnesty for illegals, opening the borders to all. Next up.
9. Obama weakens the military, killing advanced weaponry projects and leaking secrets to enemies.
10. Obama releases birth certificate, admits not natural born, says "What are you going to do about it now!" Takes over country.
Somewhere before #10, I hope to wake up.

Thanks for link. Reading through it, what he’s planned is for “private” insurance companies to administer the plans the way they currently do here for Medicaid and the prescriptions (Part D) & Advantage Plans for Medicare. The government really doesn’t want the responsibility for administering the plans, BUT, in this case, from what I read, while the “private” insurance company would administer the plans, they would be controlled by the government. Sounds to me like that would mean taking over the private companies, if they can do it....and I just saw this thread:

Inhofe has been saying on Cap and Trade and on Healthcare the Dems only have 35 sure votes — others are still up in the air.
I am not sure they will be able to get 50 — know they cannot get 60. Kennedy is unable to be there; Byrd is voting NO and most of the Dem Senators from Middle America are NO.
I don’t think the nuclear option which they will forever regret will help except to defeat Reid in 2010. I do not think they have the votes in the Senate. You can tell the way Conrad is talking the votes are not there for the public option.
Think the RATs are bluffing. Those Blue Dogs will go down to defeat if they support Pelosi and without their support she loses as Republicans are sticking together.
Public Option = FAILURE! They own this bill already. Let them ram it through Congress against the will of the majority of Americans and see what happens to the lowlifes in 2010. In 2011 with enough votes, the GOP can pull it back from the brink because it does not go into effect until 2013.
There are 69 members of the House and 1 Senator who are members of the Democratic Socialist of America. That is what is wrong with Congress — Progressive Caucus = Socialist.
