Look out AARP. There's a new senior advocacy group on the block offering a conservative alternative to seniors.
The Atlanta-based American Seniors Association (ASA), which is opposed to President Obama's health care plan, is trying to capitalize on growing public dissatisfaction with the AARP.
About 60,000 seniors have quit AARP since July 1 due to the group's support for health care reform, a spokesman for the organization said this week.
AARP is running ads to support a health care overhaul and hosted Obama at an online forum recently to promote his agenda to AARP members. But the group has not endorsed a specific bill and says it won't support a plan that reduces Medicare benefits.
Spokesman Drew Nannis told The Associated Press it wasn't unusual for the powerful, 40 million-strong senior citizens' lobby to shed members in droves when advocating for a controversial issue.

Not fast enough.
American Seniors Association (ASA) BUMP
There is also another group, a conservative version of the AARP, called 60plus. I have noticed they are running commercials speaking out against the Obama health care reform. Anyone interested check them out at www.60plus.org
60,000 a day would be a good drop in membership. Maybe then the head of AARP will get the message.
LOL! Too funny!
...JOIN and then mail your TORN AARP card along with your new ASA membership number to 3700 Mansell Rd., Suite 220, Alpharetta, GA 30022 to get a second year of membership for free!
And then there are those of us who are not members, but having turned 50 in the last year (and been innundated with AARP membership applications since) took the time to write and ask the AARP to NEVER send a membersip solicitation again because of their stance on healthcare reform.

Mind if I borrow that?
It is past time for this anti-american communist organization to disappear. Our aged populous needs a pro-American organization to represent them.
Its a page right out of their Alinski playbook and it's wipe the dem/libs out being made fun of.
A 60k drop is a start in the right direction lets hope it continues to a meaningful conclusion. I long ago recognized aarp for what it is, just a democrat propaganda outlet.
Please feel free.
I have NEVER joined aarp, never will. I’m so GLAD to see that they are losing members, and hope they go the way of the buggy whip.
