Designed to fail, and bleed Americans of their wealth using the IRS as an enforcement arm.
Health care is just a smoke screen.
A new coalition on Thursday is launching $12 million in television ads to support President Barack Obamas health-reform plan, in the opening wave of a planned tens of millions of dollars this fall.

Uncaring. Uncompassionate. They could be spending that money on people that need better health care. No, to these bozos, practicality and good ideas matter not in this debate.
What did he promise them, or threaten them with that makes them willing to invest this much money in an ad campaign to get this legislation passed?
So, when Obama tells me that if I like my insurance plan, I can keep it, he's lying directly to me, because I have an HSA.
The real problem the Feds are stuck with is that they gave away all the money to the bankers....theres none left for Social Security and Medicare....

Press Releases
Washington, D.C. (July 31, 2009) Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) Senior Vice President Ken Johnson released the following statement after the Energy and Commerce Committee mark-up of the House Tri-Committee bill:
PhRMA remains committed to working with the Administration and Congress to help enact comprehensive health care reform this year. Our policy agreement with the White House and the Senate Finance Committee, which provides $80 billion in meaningful cost-savings over 10 years, clearly demonstrates that commitment. We share the same goal of helping ensure that all Americans have access to affordable, high-quality health care coverage and services.
We applaud members on the House Energy & Commerce Committee for passing a bipartisan biosimilars amendment that strikes an appropriate balance between the desire for enhanced competition and preserving incentives for innovation. Such incentives are vital for ensuring continued development of biologics that patients with complex diseases rely on today and will help to provide cures in the future. Recently, the Senate HELP Committee also agreed overwhelmingly to support this important provision.
Unfortunately, the totality of the efforts in the U.S. House of Representatives, while well-intentioned, represents a step in the wrong direction in the health care reform debate.
PhRMA opposes the House Tri-Committee bill because it undercuts the main goal of health care reform which is to help all Americans access needed healthcare coverage and services. The bill would effectively act as a tax increase by raising premiums for seniors in the popular Medicare prescription drug program, severely restrict patient access and choice and hurt an innovative sector that currently employs hundreds of thousands of workers. The result could mean significant job losses in the middle of a recession. In addition, the legislation allows broad override of protections for Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries by unelected officials, with no chance for review.
Under the House bill, were concerned that the federal government will wind up rationing health care and dictating what medicines doctors can prescribe to their patients. This may well prevent patients from gaining access to the critically important medicines they need to fight diseases such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease.
Whats more, even the Congressional Budget Office has said that government negotiation of Medicare Part D prices would save little, if any, money.
While we will continue to work toward supporting comprehensive health care reform, we will vigorously oppose legislation that hurts patients and the American economy.
The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) represents the countrys leading pharmaceutical research and biotechnology companies, which are devoted to inventing medicines that allow patients to live longer, healthier, and more productive lives. PhRMA companies are leading the way in the search for new cures. PhRMA members alone invested an estimated $50.3 billion in 2008 in discovering and developing new medicines. Industry-wide research and investment reached a record $65.2 billion in 2008.

Excellent post. I am going to print this off and call AARP (of which I am not a member) but I am going to flay them with these points against their so called “Myths of Health Care Reform”. Also I am going to call my libturd senators from MN, Amy Klobuchar and (clown) Al Franken, and also my libturd congressman Tim Walz. What a sorry ass bunch of losers the idiots of MN have elected to the Senate & to Congress. I grew up in WI and now live in MN. I love the upper midwest, but I can’t believe that hard working rural farmers & small rural communities & workers are so stupid to elect liberal demoRATs from these two states. Well, anyway it is time to go to war against 0bozo & his thugs & fight to defeat this socialist-fascist-commie pig & his health care debacle un-reform.
The grassroots town hall folks have molded the template and it will be very difficult at this point to remold it or create a new one.
Trust has been destroyed. In most of the recent town hall meetings, at least one person accuses the Congressperson of lying to them. Specter and McGaskill had that charge leveled at them. This view has hardened.
Obama has been proven to be a liar when he said this week that he never supported single payer. He’s on record as saying he does.
A propaganda surge will not help, IMO. It will just reinforce the idea that they’re trying to foist this plan on us before we really find out what’s in it.
With the approval of the Democrat led Congress lowering nearly to single digits and approval of Obama now below 50%, I think this bill, in its current form, is toast.
I think there will be some form of a bill passed, just so Obama can save face. But it will just be an insurance reform bill with minor tweaks. There will be no bill that will lead to single payer - at least in this go round.
You know how 0bama lied about AARP support?
See post # 28; PhRMA put out a press statement on their official web site that says THEY DO NOT SUPPORT the ObamaCare plan/bill.
Can I see this in writing? I will see it when I believe it. I hope to God you’re right!
Exactly if they gave a rats ass they would utilize all of these millions to give for people that do not have health care.
The dems ARE NOT for the poor, they are communists plain and simple.
**2. By setting a minimum 70% actuarial value of benefits, the bill makes health plans in which individuals pay for routine services, but carry insurance only for catastrophic events, (such as Health Savings Accounts) illegal.
—So, when Obama tells me that if I like my insurance plan, I can keep it, he’s lying directly to me, because I have an HSA.
++++++++++++++
Yes, lying to our faces.
Watch out! Americans are very susceptible to TV ads. Obomaganda is what blitzed the airwaves last November (it just takes money) and you see the result.
When is Obama going to stop campaigning FOR President and actually BE the President?
No kidding. What a waste of money. More proof that these fools can't run anything right.
It's an ego trip for this narcissist in chief. He will not be defeated. He always gets what he wants.
He doesn't care about anything else but “I win”.
The GOP needs to start running ads saying who is behind this propaganda immediately.
