Monday August 10th saw Oregon and Oregonians truly leading the Nation by example with the outstanding good grace of her citizens. GOP Candidate for Congress Stephan A. Brodhead joined a crowd that at its height saw an estimated 1000 people engaging their first amendment rights of free speech, peaceful assembly and the right to redress their grievances with their representative in Congress.
While walking through the milling crowd waiting outside the McMinnville Police Station, Steve handed out approximately 200 bottles of water to anyone that might want or need it in the over 80 degree heat. During the lively spirited discussions that took place Steve handed out bottle after bottle to grandmothers and grandfathers, Veterans, nursing moms, teenagers and children, Republican and Democrat. Americans standing together, discussing what our future would, could, and should be.
Brodhead was the only source of water anywhere to be found. He was also the only Candidate for Congress who was there with and among the people for the entire length of the event, including David Wu. From 2:30pm to 7pm, Brodhead moved from person to person, discussing their concerns with Congress, and what they wanted from the public servants they will be casting their votes for.

Oregon ping!
Republicans have a golden opportunity if they don’t screw it up.
Health Care Nazism will take down the Democrats.
By doing something to effect change!
I agree. If we are going to do it it is going to take each of us finding a candidate to volunteer for and just going to events and helping out however possible.
Thats what I am doing anyway.
BTTT for Oregon lurkers
Wu was and is a coward!
Thanks for the ping!

What really happened at the Wu townhall in McMinnvile, Oregon!
I liked this:
**With a case of water in one arm and a willingness to walk the talk that is so clearly absent in DC, Brodhead offered something even better than a bottle of water on a hot day. He showed what a Public Servant is meant to be.
There was only one candidate in McMinnville walking the talk on Monday. He was outside in the heat, face to face with the people. No barriers of privilege, no limit on numbers; just one man, offering a cool drink of water a handshake and some common sense. This is the America we all know and love; this is the kind of leadership Oregon needs in DC. It’s time for representation that walks the talk.
Brodhead is an Iraqi war Veteran, Retired Air Force Reservist Aviator, and Real Estate Investor. His campaign website can be viewed at http://www.stephanandrewbrodheadforcongress.com**
