Others on this blog have described how Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-TX, demeaned his constituents for having the audacity to oppose socialized medicine at a public meeting. (Doggett called their self-expression a real desperation tactic.) However, its worth memorializing the way the host of MSNBCs Hardball, Chris Matthews, views those who reject ObamaCare: theyre jihadists. (Snip)
Matthews began: Everytime a member of Congress or Senate calls a town meeting now, the people show up, and its like, I dont know, its like Iran, its like the streets of Tehran.

Matthews is so busy talking that he doesn’t have time to listen to what he says.

No surprise. In the first few months of the Bush administration Matthews frequently referred to conservatives as “The Taliban wing of the Republican party.” After 9/11 he retired it.

Thanks for the compliment Chrissie — makes me proud to be lumped with the folks in the streets of Tehran, bravely risking their lives for freedom for themselves and their countrymen.

Folks get to townhall meetings and bring everyone you know. We have to swamp these meetings.

If by “like the streets of Tehran” you mean the people demanding to be heard despite the efforts of some in the government to quiet their voices ... then yes.
Crissy finally got one right.

I was going to suggest that I’m somewhat flattered by his commentary.

WE are the people. It's
our government. Presidents, Vice Presidents, Senators and Congressmen are
our servants, sent to Washington to represent
us.
The servants have been getting the idea that they are the bosses and we serve them. They are getting slapped down hard. Flyover country is starting to revolt.
Yes, I think the comparison to the streets of Tehran are very apt.

Chris you are so right! I never thought I’d ever agree with you on anything.
The townhall meetings are freedom loving people standing up to the tyrants that rule them and are starting to push back so we can take back our freedom’s that we have lost.

It doesn’t really matter what Missy Chrissy sez. It’s not as if anyone is watching anyway.
Where’s that picture of Glenn Beck? The guy with the ratings......

To add one thing to my previous post: in one area the streets of Tehran are above us - there people are shedding their blood for freedom. That hasn’t happened in this country. Yet. Hopefully it will never happen.
Just want to give the proper respect to those fighting in Tehran.

To: Old Retired Army Guy
"Okay Chris. If it is like the streets of Tehran, does that mean the Health Care protestors represent the voice of the people and the congressmen represent the illigitimate Government?" Matthews obviously does NOT know what he is saying.
