WASHINGTON. D.C. Following reports that White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel has been orchestrating an effort to intimidate members of Congress and Governors who raise legitimate concerns regarding the effectiveness of the stimulus, House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Ranking Member Darrell Issa (R-CA) sent a letter to Emanuel saying While this type of scare tactic may work In Chicago, it will not work to intimidate me or other Members of the United States Congress.
I and others have dared to bring these facts to the attention of President Obama, the Congress and the American people, Issa wrote. Youve unfortunately reacted by once again resorting to the playbook of the Chicago political machine.
Last month, Politico reported that Emanuel had launched a coordinated effort to jam Senator Kyl and other Administration critics
[A]fter seeing Kyl and House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA) again paint the legislation as a failure on Sunday talk shows, White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel directed that the letters from the Cabinet secretaries be sent to [Governor] Brewer, according to two administration officials.

Even Corleone was more ‘lovable’ than this ‘thing’.

He deserves a call of thanks from everyone whether or not they live in California!
We need to call our own Congresscritters and tell them to do the same.

We will soon know what’s in the Congressman’s FBI file...
Rahm looks like a cartoon evil cat. Can somebody photoshop that?
Brewer should have replied that AZ would forfeit the money provided the Feds forfeited the federal taxes remitted by AZ taxpayers.
I beg to disagree. Corleone had values.
Don’t insult Pacino ;-)
Emmanuel is much more like Hitler’s Goebbel... or even Mohammed Atta,... cold, dead eyes.
If they have any skeletons in their closet, I guess they could blackmail them. But they would do that anyway in an election.
OK, now that is creepy.
Maybe he has brought exactly the hope for change that we needed by opening eyes to what is happening to our country and causing enough alarm to get people motivated to make some changes of our own. God bless those who love freedom and want to preserve it.
Set phasers to stun for the Rahmulan.
A tough letter from a tough guy. Go Issa! I’m sure the reaction from Emanuel was a condescending laugh; but I hope it was followed by a tiny bit of irritation that a Republican would have the Audacity to ask him to explain his behavior.
I’m sure that Rove got letters asking for the same kind of info every week from various Dems in Congress.
Yes!!! I’ve been telling my husband how much he reminds me of Michael Corleone. I’m glad someone else sees it too.
nice story but he probably lost it crossing the wrong godfather in Chi-town
It is nice to see his thuggery backfire. May it destroy him.
We need more critters like this guy come 2010~!!!
Is that really his picture?
