The son of actor Michael Douglas was arrested in New York for possessing a massive amount of crystal meth with intent to distribute it, law enforcement sources said this evening.
Cameron Douglas, 30, was busted on July 28 at the Gansevoort Hotel by a DEA task force, the sources said.
The bust stemmed from an undercover operation that determined Douglas had allegedly had a half-a-pound of the drug.

Any idea what half a pound of meth would be as a charge and sentencing? I would guess that is quite a lot. I know the drug laws go up with the amount. Daddy’s gonna be spending a lot of $$ to try to save sonny boy.
(Coincidence alert!): I was actually at the lounge in said hotel on that day. Didn't see anyone who resembled Michael Douglas or a Tweeker on that occasion.

In old NY, he would have gotten life for that much on him.
These days, he may get drug diversion.. he will do some pokey time too.. it’s a series felony charge. not a good spot to be in.

Used to be very popular amongst the homosexual community. They seem to have moved on the Anyl Nitrate.
While there are some meth freaks in the outer suburbs,
Yeah, these fools move to central/eastern Suffolk County thinking little Paddy and little Vinny will be safe from the "animals," only to see them get addicted and become "animals" themselves.
Pot, Cocaine, crack and heroin remain the big sellers here and even now the massive drug busts of years past are rare.
You see only 1/8th the crackheads that you did back in the 1980s, and they are usually concentrated around the projects. The "shooting galleries" seem to have disappeared post-gentrification and redevelopment. Of course, NY has successfully exported much of its underclass to Pennsylvania (see Lehigh Valley) and Florida, amongst other places, over the last few years.
