Birth of a nation: Too many Americans buy crank theory on Obama's citizenship
New York Daily News ^ | Saturday, August 1st 2009

There's Red America, Blue America and Tinfoil Helmet America. And it looks like the third camp is enormously larger than anyone feared.

A new poll, commissioned by the liberal Web site Daily Kos found that fully 11% of Americans think that Barack Obama wasn't born in the United States. And another 12% said that they are unsure.

The doubters are heavily concentrated in the Republican Party, according to pollsters. An amazing 58% of the surveyed Republicans questioned whether Obama, in fact, entered the world in Hawaii.

What this means: Millions of Americans suspect or are convinced that Obama, son of a Kenyan father, is not a citizen and thus cannot legitimately serve as President. And no Hawaiian birth certificate or newspaper announcement from the time will convince them otherwise.

Who are these people? They're the ones whose feet are not planted on U.S. soil - or any soil.

Furthermore under the Constitution, citizens have what lawyers call “an implied cause of action” that they must ensure that candidates running for the office of President are in fact eligible, and that’s what we are doing since the people we trusted to do it, apparently have not, nor will not.

Yep.

As the situation exists right now : no specific legal requirement to submit actual documentation for proof of eligibility, as well as allowing him to legally control all access to the necessary evidence ( birth records ), -means a candidate is being allowed to take the law into his own hands. Individuals are being allowed to exploit the system. The system is compromised.

That's the reason that "he's not *legally* required to show actual proof of eligibility" argument is flawed.

I wonder if this is also part of the reason he turned down Federal matching funds.

I love watching the news libs sweat! If there is no truth to Obama’s not being a natural born citizen, why are they giving it so much attention? Ask them when will Obama present his original long form birth certificate?

EXCELLENT!

The Problem is how to put the ‘horse’ back in the born ofter our ‘leaders’ allowed it to wander?

Someone opened that ‘barn door’ from the outside.

Others turned their heads.

I’m glad he’s your president, he’s not mine and never will be. I don’t need no stinkin’ Pinko Muslim Chicago thug as a president. Oh yea, and show the gdamn birth certificate barry Soetoro. Meedical records too. I don’t give a crap if he was sworn in, it means nothing to me, NOTHING. If he has lied, he’s toast. He needs to come clean because behind the scenes a mountain of evidence is building and the military is getting restless thinking the CIC isn’t qualified.
A friend of mine just returned from Italy. She worked there for the DOD on the base for the past 2 years. I asked her what the troops over there thought of Obama. She said a few of the really young ones were fans but probably 90% hated him and thought he might not be a legitimate president, a usurper.

Actually, it isn't "flawed", it's not true. See post 156 where I show the language plainly stated in the Constitution that REQUIRES that the President elect show proof of eligibility to Congress BEFORE being allowed to be named President. No proof, no Presidency.

I wonder if they polled how many Americans think Bush orchestrated planes to fly into the WTC and the Pentagon, what type of percentage they would get. Or if they polled how many Americans think Bush steered Hurricane Katrina into New Orleans just to kill black people, what type of percentage they would get?

I’m surprised you are promoting a *nut-case* and a hoax, where many FReepers have already discovered who this is — i.e., a nut-case and criminal...

Why isn’t the Constitutional requirement not regarded as law by you? If a 22-year old ran and won, would that be ok with you? I mean, no law and all...
