Palin radio decision "in the future."
Inside Radio ^ | July 31, 2009

Radio might be in former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s plans, but her attorney says a decision hasn’t been made. Robert Barnett disputes reports members of Palin's team have been testing the waters to gauge syndicators’ interest.

Barnett says, “Many individuals and entities have expressed strong interest in Governor Palin. To date, she has not spoken with any of them, negotiated with any of them or made deals with any of them.”

Industry sources told Inside Radio this week people representing the 2008 Republican Vice Presidential candidate were making informal, preliminary overtures to radio networks. But Barnett insists no such talks have begun. "All of that is in the future," he says.

Since resigning from office last Sunday in Fairbanks, Palin has said little about what her next step will be.

Guess that settles that.

Gotta be honest here. I don’t know if I could put up with just “hearing” Sarah. Her voice is not her most attractive feature. Don’t get me wrong here, I like her and fully support what she says and would vote for her should she decide to run. But the voice gets a little obnoxious over the course of a drawn out speech. Put her on TV. She looks a whole lot nicer than she sounds. Relatively speaking, of course. JMHO.

‘the field is too crowded’

I agree. And, talk radio isn’t easy. Speaking almost non-stop for three hours AND trying to make sense and get salient points across at the same time is a difficult task. That’s why Rush is so great at what he does, as is Mark Levin. Sarah could fill in for folks, a day here and a day here, to see if she has what it takes to do this full-time. But, to just ‘get’ a radio show and go full bore is, to me, a very risky move.

If Mark Levin can be a successful radio host, then Sarah’s voice is nothing to worry about.

That said, probably not a terrific move for her if she plans to seek office again. She’s become part of “the pack” of which Rush is still the leader and it makes it easier to marginalize/pigeon-hole/label her.

Actually, when I heard this, I thought it would be kinda cool to hear her on Rush's show once a week to give political commentary or to just chat.
Who better to break into talk radio with than Rush?
Besides,he'd be a good influence on her.
He sure knows how to handle the most vitriolic of leftists.

She should not only do the fill-ins, but do a daily/regular commentary like Reagan did.

She could fill in for Rush! But I suppose the original post suggested Sarah`s people where entertaining ideas for her own syndicated radio program.

Yes we know that people make stuff up!!!

I agree with you, I like her, she’s hot, and I’d vote for her. But listening to her voice is like listening to dolphins screeching at each other while running their fins down a blackboard.

Since she is so attractive and photogenic seems like she would be a better fit for television rather than radio. It’s hard to capture and hold an audience for hours in the crowded radio field anyway.

Not a good idea. Why become a radio personality? I think it would diminish her politically. I’d like to see her stay out of the limelight for awhile.

Big mistake on her part if she does it. She gives a great speech and has great ideas but don’t think she can hold an audience for 3 hours a day, that takes real talent.

I love Sarah, but I also loved Fred Thompson.

If you remember, Fred was great filling in for Paul Harvey, but was not successful with his own long format call-in show.

I think her talents would be wasted on the radio. As many here have mentioned, the field is well-packed now; she would just be one of many. Rush is the undeniable leader there. On the other hand, Sarah should be giving speeches, appearing at (especially TEA Party) rallies supporting conservative candidates, and making television appearances. We need her there; not on radio.
