58 percent of GOP not sure/doubt Obama born in US
Politico ^ | 7/31/09 | Glenn Thrush

Shocker poll from Kos/Research2000 today.

A whopping 58 percent of Republicans either think Barack Obama wasn't born in the US (28 percent) or aren't sure (30 percent). A mere 42 percent think he was.

That means a majority of Republicans polled either don't know about -- or don't believe the seemingly incontrovertible evidence Obama's camp has presented over and over and over that he was born in Hawaii in '61.

It also explains why Republicans, including Roy Blunt, are playing footsie with the Birther fringe.

Surprise, surprise: Birther sentiment was strongest in the South and among the 60-plus crowd - presumably because seniors can't log on to the Internet and rely on rumor, word of mouth and right-wing talk radio.

When do we start a serious dialog about the Birther movement being a proxy for racism that is unacceptable to articulate in more direct terms?

In all 77 percent of Americans overall think the president is actually an American.

LOL. Politico is teaming with the KOS pollsters to try to 'smear' republicans. Funny thing is, they are probably a bit low with that 58%.

The funnier thing is this issue is going to steamroll the marxists.

So 58% of the GOP constitutes the “fringe,” as the libs are saying?

“That means a majority of Republicans polled either don’t know about — or don’t believe the seemingly incontrovertible evidence Obama’s camp has presented over and over and over that he was born in Hawaii in ‘61. “

Where? Did they see it? Or are they verifying because they “saw it on the internet so it has to be true!”

...this is a sad number. Proves that ignorance/apathy in America is rampant.

The Obama people don’t want to lay this controversy to rest. They want the “birthers” to continue to fight so all Republicans, Conservatives and some Independents could be labled as kooks and crazies. The Alinsky method is in full force at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Oh yeah, and the more ‘them folks are crazy!’ articles are written is just another day that people who haven’t heard of this issue will go “WTH? Not born in America, what are they talking about?” and google to find all this information and think “maybe they aren’t so crazy”.

the seemingly incontrovertible evidence Obama’s camp has presented over and over and over that he was born in Hawaii in ‘61.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

And what evidence was that?

Also...It is about his natural born status that matters here. Politico is deliberately muddying the issue.

Kos? Kos? Politico is citing a Kos poll and then out of the blue, relates “Birther” with racism. Wow, talk about being in the tank for the Democrats!!!

Once again, all he has to do is produce a certified copy of his original birth certificate. Seems simple to me.

Notice how all of the anti-birther articles not only impugn the character, intelligence, and common sense of those who would like to know the origins of their President, but also ignore other questions about his hidden background. By focusing on “birther conspiracy” they attempt to divert attention from other curious aspects of Obama’s background, such as his college records — grades, financial aid, name used — that they were so eager to dredge up about GOP candidates such as Sarah Palin.

In all 77 percent of Americans overall think the president is actually an American.

And that's relevant, why?

Obama IS American - he is a citizen. But the Presidency requires more than that: citizenship at the time of birth.

I want to see the “long form”. I also want to see the Occidental College and Columbia University records, and I want Obama to come clean on the authorship of “Dreams of My father”.

That’s for starters.

Then I want to know how it is that communist Russians in Moscow knew, fifteen years ago, that Obama was being groomed for the Presidency. And I’d like to know why they thought of him as “one of us”.

That’s also on my burner.

“seemingly incontrovertible” evidence . . .

Hmmm . . “seemingly”? Where’s the authenticated BC?

Funny how these idiots will eat crap at face value when it suits their own agenda.

We have to insist, now, that the MSM or SRM include ALL of the documentation that we want to see, under the “birther” questions, not just the Birth Certificate.

Simply showing us one or two documents, at this point, will not explain why he has been so secretive, unless those documents make clear that he has lied about something, such as his REAL heritage.

If he was born in Hawaii, but his father is Communist Frank Marshal Davis, that means Obama has knowingly defrauded the American people by writing two FALSE autobiographies.

Ho hum, we been called racist already.

The Kenyan Imposter’s flying monkey’s have never been shy about that.

And the Kenyan Imposter didn’t do himself a favor regarding racial harmony by dissing the white cop.

But the Presidency requires more than that: citizenship at the time of birth.

Actually it requires even more than that: it requires a special form of citizenship at birth, it requires citizenship at birth that does not depend upon any statute, but upon what the Founders considered that Natural Law required. That is, birth in the sovereign territory of the United states and TWO citizen parent.
