I’ve said for a long time now that the fixation on Barack Obama’s birth certificate is a distraction.
I think Barack Obama is a natural born American citizen because his mother was indisputably an American citizen. I think he meets the residency requirements. And I think that Justice Scalia himself would not throw the President out of office now that he has been sworn in.
The issue is moot.
Fixating on it now is wasting time, precious time, when there are other issues on which those with time on their hands can fixate.
Barack Obama not releasing his birth certificate fits a pattern of non-disclosure from the man.
Most notoriously, Barack Obama allowed is campaign to accept foreign donations, a matter that got passing mention from the Washington Post and not much else.

I want to know how his credentials for a passport were allowed. The fact that Secretary Clinton is in charge makes me suspicious.
Proof of citizenship. Birth certificate, naturalization papers, consular report of birth abroad, or certificate of ctizenship.
He did not get a U.S. passport until he became a U.S. Senator in 2004 because he DOES NOT HAVE A U.S. BIRTH CERTIFICATE. He got a U.S. passport as a U.S. Senator, because the good ol boys socialist network of the U.S. Senate could not very well have a non-U.S. citizen in as senator, right. His passport application & approval was greenlighted & rushed through, just as John Kerry's dishonorable discharge was changed to honorable discharge, after he became a U.S. senator
When B Hussein Obama traveled as a young man in 1980-81 to Kenya, Pakistan, India & Indonesia, he traveled under a non-U.S. passport (most likely Indonesian since he became an Indonesian citizen under his adoptive Indonesian father), and Pakistan at that did not allow visitors to their country with U.S. passports. Obozo also enrolled at Occidental College as a non U.S. citizen, in order to obtain tuition assistance as a foreign national. When he was accepted to Columbia University and then to Harvard University with most likely financial assistance from Iraqi Khalid Monsour, he then began to portray himself as a U.S. citizen during this time. During the 2008 campaign season, if you recall, the U.S. passport office was broken into and records rifled of Hillary Clinton, John McCain & B Hussein Obama. However only the records of B Hussein Obama were stolen, and later we find out the security firm that did the break-in was owned by a close friend of Obama. Finally the key witness in the break-in case was shot & killed several months ago while in his car, outside his Washington DC apartment. I think he was gunned down intentionally in order to remove the chief key witness and let this case die on the vine.
You raise a good point. Hilary could have hammered the lack of information about Obama’s real life, as opposed to his version of it, but she pulled her punches. Why?

Regarding his passport, the State Department may have been willing to accept the COLB that was posted. But it is a fair question what passports he used in trips abroad. IAC. no other president has every had such a tenuous connection with the United States. His mother left the country within five years of giving birth to him and married an another alien. He returned to be raise by grandparents in what is a backwater of American culture. He did not settle into
American society proper until he went to Chicago, and there married into the black community. Whatever his legal status, he is very much the immigrant.

I hate when someone is clearly in the wrong and people start clamoring for everyone to just move on. This a very important Constitutional matter and it would best for the Supreme Court to rule on it. Someone’s opinion about what Scalia might do is worthless and asinine. The Court is there for reason, to rule on matters such as this. We didn’t rely on conjecture in Bush v Gore...
The damage is done. Whether he’s legit or not, the OFFICE of president installed all this socialism, not the fraud who’s acting as president.
However regarding any other travels outside the U.S., other than his travels to Kenya, Indonesia, Pakistan & India in 1981, I am not aware of any other trips that 0bama took outside the U.S., again most likely because he did not have any passport, as he could no longer very well use an Indonesian passport (most likely expired by now) while trying to pass himself off as a U.S. citizen. And he did not have an appropriate birth certificate that would show him as a U.S. citizen and most likely used the altered & fraudulent COLB document. My understanding is the B Hussein 0bama did not get a U.S. passport until he was elected as U.S. senator in 2004. At that time his passport application was greenlighted and expedited in order for him to finally have a U.S. passport allowing him to travel outside the country now as an "alleged citizen" and U.S. senator. I believe the reason the U.S. passport office was broken into, and only B Hussein 0bama's passport documentation was stolen, is to further suppress & hide the identity of B Hussein 0bama as a non-U.S. citizen, and most assuredly as a non-natural birth U.S. citizen.
Barak went to Indonesia to hang out, IIRC, while ‘he finished his autobiography’ ... Had to have a passport from somewhere.

My question is: Does the State departure accept a certificate of live birth issued by Hawaii? I know that when I presented the equivalent issued by the State of Texas, a card used to cross the border into Mexico, they would not accept it and demanded I present the “original birth certificate.” But maybe Hawaiian law gives the COLB the same validity as other forms of birth certificate. Given the number of US forces people who pass through,and the then (in 1961) recent territorial status of Hawaii, registration may have been be looser than in other states and the State has since simply lumped all together in the interests of simplicity.

But that was then, and this is now. We live in a country that would be unrecognizable by the Founding Fathers. It bears on the slightest resemblance to the country they left for us to feed and care for.
I can't think of a single position where the applicant can claim to be eligible and it's up to the other party to prove that he or she isn't.

And just because you think this is a dead issue does not immunize you from being considered a kook. Anyone who disputes Obama's claims for the Cap N Trade, Health Care, Global Warming or anything else that Obama is hawking is going to be labeled a kook. Hopefully that includes you.
