When B Hussein Obama traveled as a young man in 1980-81 to Kenya, Pakistan, India & Indonesia, he traveled under a non-U.S. passport (most likely Indonesian since he became an Indonesian citizen under his adoptive Indonesian father), and Pakistan at that did not allow visitors to their country with U.S. passports.

Travel to Pakistan was no big deal. Just another third-world rathole receiving US aid.

He enrolled in Occidental College under the name of Barry Sotero, the name he used while attending school in Indonesia, and he would be eligible to receive financial aid as foreign national.
