Lack of support

You all deserve an explanation. No, Obama, nor the Obots shut me down. You guys did.

I didn't get into this for the money. As I say on my Read Me page, “My agenda is simple and clear. I am opposed to a socialist sitting in the Oval Office — especially one that employs teams of lawyers and the legal system to hide his questionable background from the American People.”

But, I've had a PayPal “Contribute” button on my site for over a year. Every day, I get 200 to 300 emails. 50 Of them from folks that tell me I'm a patriot, or they're praying for me, or the site is invaluable, blah, blah, blah. None of those emailers ever clicked the PayPal button.

I've been reading those emails for months, and instead of making me feel good, they disappointed me. I spend 8 to 10 hours a day at this — 7 days a week, and with the exception of a local guy who sent me two $100 hits a year ago, I have received from my loyal readership $40 in contributions in the last 16 months — while my bandwidth steadily increased.

Right now, my email box is full of emails telling me how valuable the site is, and please don't take it down — oh yeah, and I'm a patriot. Not one of those emailers has ever sent me 5 bucks. I'm a strong believer in non-verbal communication. Flattery doesn't pay the bills.

This isn't about money. I do not want any contributions at this point. If you send me any money, I will just send it back — and I'll pay the PayPal fee — costing me more money.

I realize I sound bitchy, but I'm discouraged — yeah, and angry. You want me to fight the fight, but you don't want to give me any bullets.

I'm done. I'm going to the beach.

Most people don’t understand that it costs money to run a website. And the more visitors it gets, the more bandwidth it takes, and more bandwidth means it costs more money.

He doesn’t have to be in it for the money to be angry that people who are benefiting from the site aren’t interested in helping to support it.

So he’s saying, “If you can’t be bothered to help me with the costs, then I can’t be bothered to keep working 7-8 hours a day on the site. I’m making big sacrifices of my time and money to give you this info, but if you can’t make a small sacrifice of financial support to have this info conveniently in one place, then forget it.”

And so he left for the beach for a much-deserved vacation. It’s as simple as that. I don’t blame him one bit.

Frankly, he shouldn't whine about it though. If he just had a donate button hoping for spare change, and wasn't getting it, he should reevaluate his business model. As with all models, it is about offering value for the cost. Did he try advertising or Amazon accounts? Did he run a fund raising drive? Did he offer products or services for donations? Up until he went under, did he even mention the desperate need for donations to stay open?

Sorry, I don't like it when businesses (even not for profit) blame the customers for not buying the product.

If anyone is whining, it’s you. Sounds like you’re angry that he didn’t develop a perfect business model so he could keep it running.

Well, good grief, if he’s spending 8 hours a day to offer a service to people free of charge, why should he now spend another umpteen hours a day making it into a business? He’s 70, likely retired, and doesn’t need to be developing a business at this stage in his life.

If the site is of value to his visitors, they can help to pay for it, period. If not, he obviously has found better things to do than spend all day every day working on a site for people who can’t be bothered to help with the financial costs of it.

Right he wanted more donations and didn’t get them so he is quitting. Seems simple to me. It isn’t the first site to go down for this reason and it won’t be the last. If anyone wants the info on this site they better get it before he pulls the plug on that as well.

Beckwith had a fantastic site where the index listed ANY SUBJECT ON OBAMA THAT YOU COULD POSSIBLY WANT TO KNOW ABOUT.
His ‘Latest News’ page kept us up daily on the very latest news articles about Obama.
His personal comments exercising his wicked sense of humor, made the reading a delight
It was a treasure trove of Obama information.
I read it every day and used it constantly for reference, because unlike some other sites, what he printed in his file was accurate. He had numerous links to back it all up.

Now it’s gone.
It’s gone because we choose to sit around and whine and preach to to the choir rather than help our few, brave patriots who are actually out there doing something to help bring the usuper down meet their expenses.

The same with Dr. Orly. She is the ONLY one out there in the trenches EVERY day hitting Obama on multiple fronts and trying to bring him down. It is reported that she is more than $8,000 in debt from using her own funds for expenses in her flights across the U.S for interviews, speeches, serving papers and meeting with officials!
Are we letting HER down, also?
How long will she continue to put her life on hold and in danger? How long will she continue to neglect her husband and children AND USE HER OWN MONEY FOR HER FIGHT??

Hard to believe, but we have FReepers who delight in slapping down both of these patriots- especially Dr. Orly.
They delight in making fun of her accent and accuse her of incompetence every time she makes the news on FR!
But think about it. How many of us could go to a foreign country, establish a successful dental and real estate practice AND pass the California state bar? This woman is no dummy.
She is one of the very few out there fighting Obama 24/7 instead of bloviating.
She has almost single handedly brought Obama’s inelgibility to U.S and worldwide attention.
Indeed, we have many patriots who have done excellent research, but she is the one putting the results out there!

Alright, now bring on the flaming!
