Military wants to establish regional teams to help civilian authorities respond Proposal awaiting final approval from Defense Secretary Robert Gates Military could provide support such as air transport, large-scale testing
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The U.S. military wants to establish regional teams of military personnel to assist civilian authorities in the event of a significant outbreak of the H1N1 virus this fall, according to Defense Department officials.
The proposal is awaiting final approval from Defense Secretary Robert Gates.
The officials would not be identified because the proposal from U.S. Northern Command's Gen. Victor Renuart has not been approved by the secretary.
The plan calls for military task forces to work in conjunction with the Federal Emergency Management Agency. There is no final decision on how the military effort would be manned, but one source said it would likely include personnel from all branches of the military

He looks about 80, LOL!
Just remember to wash your hands a lot and don’t play with strangers and you’ll be OK. ;)
Thanks for adding the youtube link!
I guess you don’t like the idea of being shipped off in boxcars to FEMA camps?
I have to disagree with you there. H1N1 IS out of the ordinary. Last winter it was largely a non event to most of us but it has continued to infect and kill people this spring and winter when flu viruses are usually dormant. There are also strains in the US and UK that are already Tamiflu resistant. I live in VA and we've had 3 deaths from the flu this summer and a bunch of kids at summer camp have just been diagnosed with it. This is something we really need to be aware of and prepare for. It could be a nasty fall and winter.
We haven’t heard squat about the swine flu in months. Obamacare starts failing in public opinion and in Congress and all the sudden we need military involvement for flu outbreaks.
Amazing...
It is NOT necessary at all for the US MIlitary to be involved in the swine flu situation! Which, by the way, do not know one person who has contacted this flu. This is going overboard.
I wonder if my son was vaccinated...hm...m. He never said. We're off to see him graduate next Thursday, so I'll have a chance to give him a good look-over. Right now, he's only fighting some sort of skin fungus. (Sigh.) It isn't like I haven't spent my life protecting him from these sorts of things to have him contract them the minute I let him out of my sight. A mother's work is never done. ;-)
I find it interesting that back in 2005 when O purchased stock in biotech companies - just 2 weeks later he was pushing for legislation on the Avian flu.
“Within two weeks of his purchase of the biotech stock that Feb. 22, Mr. Obama initiated what he has called one of my top priorities since arriving in the Senate, a push to increase federal financing to fight avian flu.”

Yep...when you get there, you can go right into the shower and relax...especially all the right wingers and old folks...
Hmmmm.....Double hmmmm......aren't the six "camps" that FEMA are overseeing development of, to be located at various military bases? Hmmmm.....nothing to see or make the connection to here. Move along.
The list, ping
It's not a theory anymore. Your overlords are talking about it out in the open now. The Pollyanna's were wrong, the crackpots were right.
