The several states are lining up to reclaim their sovereignty and telling the federal government to butt out. This is being done in myriad ways but all are related in that most claim that the Tenth Amendment protects the states from federal tyranny. States are passing resolutions, memorials and two states have passed laws and they intend to apply those laws for their citizens. The two states are Montana and Tennessee.
It was expected that at some point these laws would be challenged and it appears actions to do such has begun. The Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has published open letters to federal firearms license holders in Montana and Tennessee explaining that federal law trumps state law when it comes to gun laws

And people call me crazy when I say the 2nd should protect RPGs.
Maybe just Austin and Cheyenne. Once the velvet gloves come off and political correctness is thrown by the wayside, what makes you think that the hammers wont get used?
“The Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has published open letters to federal firearms license holders in Montana and Tennessee explaining that federal law trumps state law when it comes to gun laws”
And the Constitution trumps federal law.
Don’t expect wannabe dictators to play by conventional rules. When the pen fails, they will resort to violence.
This is the best idea I’ve heard all week.
It’s almost difficult to believe this actually happened...
18,000,000 deer hunters. ‘nuff said.
I think it’s a mistake for the states to give the FEDERAL courts jurisdiction on the subject of state sovereignty. It’s an inherent conflict of interest.
Basically, any law outside of Article I, Section 8 powers of the fedgov has no jurisdiction outside of the states.
I don’t think you’re crazy at all.
The Constitution is a CONTRACT under which the general government entity was formed by permission of the pre-existing state entities.
The CREATED entity is now in violation of the contract under which it was created in the first place.
It definitely wouldn't be the first that the military was used to quell an uprising. Just do a little reading the at "Bonus Army"
I'm thinking the outcome will be a lot more far-reaching this time around.
I knew I’d find kindred spirits around here. My belief is if the military can have, I should be permitted it, if I can afford it. Too bad customs keeps confiscating my T-72s. :’(
You guys are in big trouble.....
Too many conservative senators like Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) and Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) are to blame for the GOP’s downfall, one of their retiring Republican colleagues complained Monday.
“We got too many Jim DeMints and Tom Coburns,” Sen. George Voinovich (R-Ohio) told the Columbus Dispatch. “It’s the southerners.”
“They get on TV and go ‘errrr, errrrr,’” he said. “People hear them and say, ‘These people, they’re southerners. The party’s being taken over by southerners. What they hell they got to do with Ohio?’”
When did Obama say that?
He said something similar in December 2008, before being sworn in.

He also discussed it sometime in February 2009.
Bull puckey. It’s a guarenteed right.
this guy has to be stopped. Contact your legislators and make him a lame duck right now.
thanks, bfl
It was a while back, but I found it.

Obama: Dont stock up on guns
ABDON M. PALLASCH Chicago Sun-Times December 8, 2008
As gun sales shoot up around the country, President-elect Barack Obama said Sunday that gun-owning Americans do not need to rush out and stock up before he is sworn in next month.
I also found another good reference...
The article that appeared in the Chicago Defender on Dec. 13, 1999, when Obama was in the Illinois state Senate. According to the Defender, at an anti-gun rally, Obama "outlined his anti-gun plan," which, among other things, sought to "increase the federal taxes by 500 percent on the sale of firearm, ammunition [sic] -- weapons he says are most commonly used in firearm deaths."
Factcheck.org asked the Obama campaign about his position on an ammunition tax but have received no response.
The claim "Close Down 90 Percent of Gun Shops in America" also is based on the 1999 Defender article. It reported Obama was pushing "all federally licensed gun dealers sell firearms in a storefront and not from their homes while banning their business from being within five miles of a school or a park." The NRA states that the 5-mile limit would have resulted in the closing of 90 percent of gun shops in the country.
Again, Factcheck.org asked the Obama campaign about his position on an ammunition tax but have received no response.
