Responding to the growing controversy over the White House's refusal to release President Obama's original long-form birth certificate, Hawaii's director of health issued a statement yesterday about the document in apparent contravention of Hawaiian law.
Dr. Chiyome Fukino declared she has seen the "original birth records" that verify Obama was born in Hawaii and is a "natural-born American citizen," the Honolulu Advertiser reported.
But in two separate telephone interviews with WND, Janice Okubo, the Health Department's public information officer, told WND that Hawaii law prohibited her from commenting on the birth records of any specific person.
Okubo cited Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 338-18, which pertains to "Disclosure of Records."
That section of Hawaii state law states regarding the release of vital statistics records, "The department shall not permit inspection of public health statistics records, or issue a certified copy of any such record or part thereof, unless it is satisfied that the applicant has a direct and tangible interest in the record."
WND asked Okubo last night how Fukino could comment on Obama's particular birth records without violating the statute.
"I'm not a legal authority, and you'd have to talk to someone who is a legal authority," Okubo said. "I don't have that kind of legal expertise." Corsi: Doesn't this seem to be a discrepancy from what you told me earlier today?
In a previous interview, Okubo also refused to answer a direct question from WND about whether Obama's original long-form birth certificate still was on file with the Hawaii DOH, responding: "I cannot comment on any specific vital statistics records belonging to any individual because that is against the law in Hawaii."

Have these Hawaiian Obamabots decided which hospital he was born in? He’s claimed two so far....
I wondered this myself. Wouldn’t this violate a whole bunch of ethics rules...not to mention laws
no, it really is worse. The criminal element is more sophicated, I imagine. Not a good-ole-boy like in LA, but more a Capone type...
Surely Mrs. Fukino would be willing to submit to a lie detector test then...
This is serious. Before too long I'll bet that she'll be saying that her name is...Fukidunno!
You’re bad. LOL
Surely Mrs. Fukino would be willing to submit to a lie detector test then...
Her response would be fukifino...
Ya’ beat me to it...
Talk about a name you don’t want to go through HS with.
Even though they have a Republican governor, Hawaii is probably the most socialistic and union controled state in the Union. Very difficutl business enviroment.
I worked with a company in Hawaii and recommended they close their shops their and fly mechanics in to do service.
Their unions were strong, rules strong and output was very low.
Sounds like this Dr Fukino violated the law.....releasing that info.
The only way she would not be breaking the law is if that info was false.
If BO would just release the BC this would be over quickly....
I bet his long form says he is white or Caucasian or whatever they used at that time and that Obama Sr. is not listed as the Father. People that knew Obama Sr never saw her and the only time Sr was a picture is when she heard he was going to be at the airport and took Barry to meet him. I still bet he is the son of Franklin Davis the Communist who loved teenage girls or Malcolm X — take your pick.
If it lists him as being white then that would add to his hate whitey mentality trying not to be white.
“If you HAVE a birth certificate filed with the state then you were born in the state.”
Not true in Hawaii’s case. They will issue birth certificates for babies up to 1 year old, that have been born in places other than Hawaii. At least I am aware they were doing so during the timeframe when Obama was born.
COLB maybe.
Birth certificate would have time, physician, and hospital. Not just time and day like COLB.
where are McGarrett and Danno Williams when you need them?
Fair enough.
And something that has come up in all of this discussion, Bobby Jindal may also not qualify.
Certainly we should expect the tactic to be used against him. Democrats even used the charge against John McCain’s candidacy.
