The United States did not use the word "African" for birth certificates in 1961 - Obama's does!
Vital Statistics of the United States ^ | 1961 | U.S. Dept. of Health

VITAL STATISTICS OF THE UNITED STATES 1961 at

 http://www.nber.org/vital-statistics/historical/nat61_1.CV.pdf

says on page 231 under the section "Race and color" the following:

"Births in the United States in 1961 are classified for vital statistics into white, Negro, American Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Aleut, Eskimo, Hawaiian and Part-Hawaiian (combined), and "other nonwhite."

"The category "white" includes, in addition to persons reported as "white," those reported as Mexican or Puerto Rican. With one exception, a reported mixture of Negro with any other race is included in the Negro group; other mixed parentage is classified according to the race of the nonwhite parent and mixtures of nonwhite races to the race of the father. The exception refers to a mixture of Hawaiian and any other race, which is classified as Part-Hawaiian. In most tables a less detailed classification of "white" and "nonwhite" is used."

Obama's "Certification of Live Birth" shows father's race as "African". That word was not used in 1961 to describe race.

You can draw your own conclusion.

You have never been to Hotel Street in 1966.

Someone said in another forum that THAT was the reason he did not want his Birth Certifcate out there .... because it had him listed as WHITE like his mother.

That he would be listed as white is plausible, and that he wouldn't want that out there is also plausible.

Tough bunnies, he needs to release it anyway.

Do you really think a black man in 1961 is going to self-identify as a “Negro” ?

#####

“Negro” was the accepted term in 1961. It was considered to be more polite than “colored” which had been the accepted term, viz. NAACP.

“Black” did not become the preferred term until late in the sixties.

Again, this is what Obama Sr. would have referred to himself as.

I see you have an agenda:

Quinn is: * Anti-Obama, but openly scornful of Birthers

BTW, the terms "Afro-American" and "black" were not used in 1961. "Negro" wouldn't have raised an eyebrow.

LOL! His Mama was real proud of crossing race lines and embarrassing her parents. Even if she told the staff “african”, an official document used the term “negro”

But why are we arguing about a fake document? Read the following analysis of the document posted. Shades of Dan Rather/Mary Mapes fakery:

""The United States" does not issue birth certificates. But don't let that little fact get in the way of insanity. "

No, but each state within the "United States of America" does.

Well, a US baby couldn’t be African. But a parent could. I don’t have any examples, sorry. My point is that it would have been natural for some clerk to use “African” to try to confer respectability on a black-skinned foreign national.

You should include Charlise Theron. She’s from South Africa which makes her African American.

"This also shows whoever dummied this document up was
a) not very smart
b) probably too young to remember when “negro” was a race, not an insult
c) too politically correct to use the term “negro”"

Excellent points! And, I would say the person is all three.

This is WHY Obama has never publicly stated that the COLB posted on line is "his". Plausible deniability.

Didn't his spokesman assert it at the WH press briefings? I think they are already too deep now into legitimacy of that COLB for them to worry about that kind of caution.

Yesterday, someone posted a theory for why Obeyme is so secretive about the original document. When he first began his run for president, 2+ years ago, there was talk and concern, on the Left, that he was not an “authentic American Black Man”. So he and his lackeys got together to make sure his birth certificate was scrubbed to be politically correct.

But the big point was to make sure his race as shown on the real birth certificate never sees the light of day. Why? Because with a white mother and a half arab father, his race, in 1961, was listed as ... caucasion. So all those hopeychangey types would not be able to say they elected the “first Black President”. As I said, this is pure speculation, but it would explain the intense effort to keep the bc under wraps, even if he really is a natural born citizen.

"Wonder if he will eventually eat those words"

Yes, he will...as will Coulter and all other R/Conservatives that insist there is no there there, even though Barry was born WITH foreign citizenship and his father was a foreign national! It's staring them in the face, and they can't even see it. Sheesh.

If you watch period movies from the 60’s, ‘Negro’ was a very acceptable word back then, even as late as the late 60s ( “Guess who’s coming to dinner”) The COLB was likely prepared much after Obama’s birth, after the dawn of the PC era.

No, she’s simply a Caucazoid!
