Sometimes what is, is

He was born in Hawaii. Get over it. (Unless he wasn't, of course.)

While I would personally love knowing (as 100 percent fact) that our Dear Leader was, in fact, not born in the United States, that reality is not going to happen.

First, there is absolutely no way of knowing what (if anything) happened to President Obama's original birth certificate. If, the truth is what the State of Hawaii says it is, and the state simply misplaced, destroyed or left fall-into-the trash the original, and then issued a replacement, there is no way to confirm or deny this 'fact.'

Second, let's assume that Obama was born in Kenya (perhaps he was) and for reasons of sabotage, it was destroyed and in its place was produced a replacement from Hawaii. Again, there is no way of knowing what is fact or not.

Unlike passports, which take a certain degree of technical knowledge (and equipment) to produce forgeries (which yes, still does happen), U.S. birth certificates are sometimes simple in nature and are easy to (re)produce. Besides, they also differ in each state and are revised often by said states in time. For example, someone born in Hawaii (or any other state) in 2007 would get a different formatted birth certificate that someone, say, born in the same state in 1969. Both certificates would (or should) be considered valid and actual, despite that fact that each would look entirely different.

In Obama's case - born in 1961 - if the actual birth certificate was misplaced - its replacement would look different than what the original would have looked like. And, again it would make no difference. Even if a Obama-was-born-in-Kenya birth certificate was uncovered (and there are rumors out there that one does exist), again, there would be no way of knowing which version was 100 percent fact and which one was incorrect.

In reality, birth certificates should be issued (and look the same) in each state and all should contain up-to-date anti-forgery technology, but that is a current issue that could only rectify future in-discrepancies. Besides, short of each of us receiving a 'World Birth Certificate' (what a terrible thought), what we do in this country to control the processing of certificates would have no affect on what, say, Kenya does in its country.

What we are left with then, is no way of knowing with 100 percent certainty whether our president is or is not a U.S.-born citizen. However, with the birth certificate process as it stands now, none of us could confirm our status either.

With 100 percent certainty.

Yeah, my last one, the one that filled up, expired in 2005. They cut a corner of it off, and sent it back.

Good article. This is a dead issue.

Not a chance...

Nixon - "I am not a crook.
We - "Okay, sorry for bothering you."

"Nothing to see here" is not going to work on the BC issue...thank God.

Every time someone thinks they're bringing clarity to this issue, they seem to add more confusion. I've never read that any of those things happened. I have read a CNN account that said Hawaii discarded all original documents in 2001 and went to computer records only. And, I']ve read how two state officials say they've examined the Obama's original BC, or the "vault copy".

The more who clear this up, the more murky it becomes.

I think my original hospital birth certificate is pretty clear. Dr.’s name, hospital, city, state, and even a footprint included.

He got the latest talking points a bit early...it's their coming defense of why they can't produce a long form bc.

Question. Hawaii only became a State in 1959. If someone was born in Hawaii in 1958, would they be eligible to become POTUS?
In other words, is the requirement to be a “natural-born” US citizen retroactive?
Genuinely interested.

If you have an expired passport you are supposed to turn it in at the time you renew.

You have no idea what you are talking about. An expired Passport is even considered VALID identification for many purposes including getting new Passport. When you submit an expired Passport with an application, then send it back to you with the new one. (unless things have changed - my current Passport expires in 2010)

Good article. This is a dead issue. I think the author makes his point very well. Either there is a genuine BC which will never see the light of day, or it was stolen/destroyed, whatever.

The Birth Certificate is merely one component of the bigger questions which still is unanswered. Is Obama a natural born citizen? It would appear that he is not so the media wants to only characterize it as a Birth Certificate issue.

This ain't over by a long shot!

Speaking of Passports, maybe he could show us an expired one? I still have all of mine, and I suspect most other do too.

Speaking of passports, my wife, daughter and I had to produce a certified proof of our birth certificates when we applied for passports.

If he released his passport file, it would clear it all up because the birth certificate used to get the passport would be on file.

Think it should be the law that anyone running for President has to open all their records. We have a right to know who they are including their college records. I want to know if ZERO attended college on a foreign scholarship.

I tend to agree. Anything that shows up now, will probably be de-bunked as a fake.

Except for the part about the Governor of Hawaii stating that she has an original copy squirreled away somewhere (or words to that effect). I'm sure that she would comment on any document released to the public, and I'd be willing to take her word on it's authenticity.

If ZerO wasn’t the liar he is, none of this would matter. But, the fact that he cannot tell the truth about anything, just, cements the obligation to prove beyond doubt this point of Constitutional law. And, I will not be satisfied until I see all of his college documents. I will, also, stipulate that somewhere in Chicago police archives DumbO’s name appears in some nefarious operation. How about that for conspiracy theorizing? He may come out as a police snitch.

Right. I would hope that somewhere, there is sufficient evidence that, if presented, would bring this to an end. Personally, I don’t think we will see the birth certificate, because I don’t think there is anyone with enough juice, to will pursue it. He will probably remain president until the next election.

The birth certificate issue won’t just go away. That along with all of the other secrets he has tried so hard to keep hid will dog him until the real truth about everything comes out. The sad part is that through apathy and gullibility we are saddled with a Congress barely worth the name and a President that gives weasels and hyenas a good image in comparison. We would be much better off concentrating on thwarting his adgenda to kill America by legislating our freedoms away. We are only at the beginning of a long dark tunnel full of deceptions and treachory. Obama and the rest of his parasitical ilk must be fought and fought hard if we are to ever see the end of that tunnel.

Not trying to be snarky here, but I will lay odds (from experience) that Obozo never submitted his BC for his passport when he picked up senator. At that point he was probably directed to send the application and photo over to the Kluczynski building in Chicago (Passport Office located there) via official courier with directions to see Mary or Bob or whoever.

Not implying anything nefarious there...just that you and I are the ones that must drive to the nearest passport office or apply via the post office, as well as submit everything needed. But we are a different class of people...the non-elite who must follow all rules.

Find me a governor standing in line at the DMV to renew his/her operator's license.
