Ladies and gentlemen, I give you your elected Republican officials. Only one, Trent Franks (R-Arizona), issues an unequivocal denunciation of the Birth Certificate loons. Most of the others avoid the question, and one or two seem to be Nirthers themselves.

In 2004, Johnson was a hero to FR for his role in exposing Dan Rather and the phony national guard records. Now he’s about to be the sworn enemy of many of them.

those congress people might as well kiss their jobs good bye......
Why would anyone claiming to be conservative work so diligently trying to debunk the ‘birthers’? I could see an occasional comment here and there, but you make David Brock seem lazy.
The birthers, WND and those filing the lawsuits, make us look ridiculous. We should distance ourselves from them - not embrace them.
Because we're trying to show the Americans who might realize we're right about Obama that we're not lunatics just looking to take him down because of emotion or whatever the MSM is trying to make us look like, but because our morals and intellectual standards are those that made this country great.
Maybe because he thinks that the birthers are discrediting the conservative movement by focusing so much time and effort on an issue that seems to many to be unsupported by a preponderance of the evidence?
When I was growing up, Conservatism was built upon logical positions.
Johnson has been the enemy of FR for some time. He has lied about Robert Spencer and waged all out war on him for quite awhile now. I believe he has a screw loose (or maybe two or three)
Who the hell was that coward?
Supposedly he’s already gone over to the dark side, banning people for voting up/down the wrong article on his site, believing in God as Creator, still being a Republican...
I think a main reason might be that to many mainstream, centrist Americans, the birthers probably make us conservatives look nuts, in the same way that the 9/11 Truthers made the liberals look nuts.
The Dems know this, and they're happy to use the birther stuff to distract people from their miserable agenda of socialism, nationalization, debt, and corruption.
Please to explain?
What is wrong with We the People wanting to know if our president is in FACT a Natural Born Citizen of the United States?
Isn't that part of the constitution?
Are you saying that our constitution is worthless and you are embarrassed by the laws stating how a president is to be validated?
I don't get it?
what?
give obamanation a pass on not being eligible to serve in government?
to give him a pass on lying under oath.
to give him a pass on fraud?
why not just do away with all the laws? would that make you look less ridiculous?
it’s easy to lay down and play dead. It’s hard to stand up for what is right when the government is a fraud perpetuating a fraud on the American people.

Did he start taking CAIR/Muslim Brotherhood (Saudi) money like Ariana did at Huff Po?
So you are willing to accept the fact that the POTUS does NOT have to prove he is a natural born citizen of the United States?
So what other laws are you willing to overlook because it makes you feel uncomfortable?
He has been attacking FR for some time now.
