The long-awaited 911 tape and audio of the controversial July 16 arrest of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. are being made public for the first time today, Cambridge officals just announced.
“The tapes will speak for themselves,” said Cambridge Police Commissioner Robert Haas.
Hass said the tapes will create “some confusion,” but only with police codes you’ll hear but the remainder of the tapes are crystal clear.
“It’s in plain language in most part and you can draw your own conclusions,” Haas.
In the 911 tapes, Lucia Whalen can be heard spelling out the name of the street and saying that another woman approached her about seeing two men trying to enter the Ware Street home.

Fox said they will play “bits and pieces” of the tapes...whatever that means.
I was just remembering today that I'd heard maybe twice (on WRKO hourly news) that such a tape existed. Wasn't it just before O made his "conciliatory" speech? I don't think the MSM picked up the existence of those tapes at all!

I figured it was probably an older neighbor who was outside (maybe going for a walk) and didn’t have a cell phone. OTOH, it could have been staged.

I’ve been searching for the arrest tape, too, especially after some here have reported hearing it. If anyone finds it, I’d appreciate a ping.
There’s audio at the webpage linked for the article. (See righthand side where it says, “Gates arrest 911 and radio audio.”) But, it’s not working for me, so I don’t know what’s on it, if anything.
