Republican: Palin is another Huckabee [Romney sycophants viciously attack Palin...again] [hurl]

WASHINGTON (CNN) – It looks like Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin may have one less fan.

On the same day that Palin is set to transfer power to her lieutenant governor, Republican strategist Alex Castellanos said her prospects for national office looked grim.

“’I’ve been a supporter of Sarah Palin — at times,” Castellanos said Sunday on CNN’s State of the Union. “She gave the McCain campaign its best two weeks. But, you know, if we’re going to be critical of Democrats when they shirk their responsibilities, we have do the same within our own house. She abandoned her state in the middle of a term.”

On the national political stage, Castellanos, who worked as a political consultant for Mitt Romney's 2008 presidential bid, likened Palin to former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.

Lady Palin did quit.

And I'm sure she knew that “quitter” would be the line of attack.

Is Alex Castellanos still employed by Romney? No.

Will any opportunity be used on FR to bash Romney? Yes.

However, the hyper-sensitivity of FReepers when one of “their own” gets remotely criticized is hilarious. I remember the sheer rage when Duncan Hunter (has he quit his house seat in preparation for ‘12 yet?) of all people would be called out by some reporter or GOP hack.

We get it. You don’t like Romney. My personal favorite is to view a LDS-bashing thread, and watch the same people bash Romney and then explain to me that it’s not his religion. Right. Please note, I’m not a Mormon, either. Nor am I a huge supporter of Romney.

This crap is getting old.

Quitter is the focus group word of the day.

You're right. Too bad for them it doesn't fit this lady:

Sarah Palin, following her announcement that she would resign her Governship at the end of July ...

Interesting how he didn’t declare Palin another Romney. That’s right, Romney didn’t lose steam, because he never had any PLUS he failed to deliver. I suppose Romney is spreading some of his money around to see how many nominal republicans he can get to attack Palin.

In the end Romney, and anyone else who gets in her way, including 0bama, won’t even be speedbumps in her path, they’ll merely be roadkill on the Sarah Palin Highway to DC, scheduled for completion Nov 2012

It’s so hilarious, too.

Like a field general yelling quitter as the opposing forces “retreat” and flank him.

In fact, you have no idea whether he is or isn’t. What is absolutely true is that it wouldn’t be a formal ‘employed’ title at this stage of the game and that doesn't mean he isn't being "paid". This is a guy who helped to draft Mitt's high level strategy plans as his top media advisor. It is very likely that if he was employed as such in the previous campaign, he will again.

However, the hyper-sensitivity of FReepers when one of “their own” gets remotely criticized is hilarious.

Be careful, you’re stepping on “hyper-sensitive” ground now. ;-)

I know the “LDS-bashing” of which you speak, and no, I have not participated. I could care less about Romney’s religion and would have no problem voting for a Mormon who is a true conservative.

This crap is getting old.

Then don’t read it or post to it.

Romney made a wreck out of MA's healthcare system. He's a condemned socialist. The entire mess there can be hung around his neck.

I will have nothing to do with him and anyone who supports him is a socialist sympathizer.

The only reason anyone would attack this sweet, honest, courageous and intelligent person would be that either (1) they don’t know anything about her or (2) They serve The New World Order, CFR, TLC, Bilderbergers and Federal Reserve, a grandchild of the House of Rothschild, which is running our country (into the ground).

I agree completely with your analysis. When Reagan was initially running, he was castigated for many of the same "shortcomings" that Palin is being castigated for today (too shallow, "not from Hah-vahd", dumber than Bonzo, and on and on). Even in his second term, he caught flack from the MSM and was urged to "become more centrist". But when the historians dug into his records, he was found to have an intellectual basis second to none. Reagan was certainly more correct about history than Henry Kissinger, who has been touted his entire career as the creme-de-la-creme of the establishment "intelligentsia".

I think so. Why do you ask?

It’s time to loudly and publicly set these lowlifes straight. Particularly Romney’s scummy ass. Let them know in no uncertain terms that they do not represent our values or beliefs. It’s time to put these pricks in their place.

Oh, and F U Romney!

As a guy who LIKES Romney and WOULD vote for him again (and went door-to-door for him in the primary), I have found myself frustrated with him and his team since Palin’s nomination. Redstate has been constantly busting Romneyites for a scorched-earth policy against Palin, and I think that even most casual observers even see what's going on. The proxy, as I said, is Romney's weapon of choice (”That wasn't Mitt Romney! It was his ex-campaign manager/fundraiser/strategist/cousin/brother/partner....but Mitt had nothing to do with it!”).

The key question isn't, did Mitt hire these despicable people and surround himself with dastardly schemers? Nor is it, is Mitt PAYING them anymore? The key question is: would Mitt Romney swear never to hire, consult, or use these shifty people in any official or unofficial capacity in the future?

I find that unlikely, as one of the things I like about Mitt is that he takes the gloves off and deosn’t play nicey-nice. He'll sling mud back at the Socialists, and not blink about it or apologize. I actually LIKE that.

But yes, clearly there is a “take out Palin” movement going on early, and it is saturated with Romney backers.

Palin is still my #1 choice, but Romney remains in my top 3.
I don't mind a little political bloodsport, I just get tired of hearing Romney supporters pretend he doesn't participate.

I've yet to hear Sarah sign on to the global warming nonsense, support special rights for illegal aliens, promote economic class warfare under the guise of populism, raise taxes as governor or spew and egg her supporters to support religious bigotry and exclusion for less popular brands of Christianity. Unlike Mike Huckabee.

At least Palin left the state in the hands of a full time Governor, unlike Mitt who half way through was an do nothing, abandoned his duties, yet like a zombie, living dead, hung on to his position. His only act was Romneycare, and a walk around photo op of the Big Pig Dig and Death Tunnel.

Alaskans will be better served with a real, present, full attention Governor that will want to be elected, than Massachusetts was with a ticket punching, carpet bagging, twinkle toes, out of state half the year like Mitt.

The Huckster spent time bashing Sarah on his program just a couple of days ago.

No he didn't he and Carpenter did a superb job of defending Palin against the clearly over the top democrat, Huckabee was especially effective in working in Palin's positives in a very pleasant, easy going manner which was a wonderful contrast with the dems emotional and obviously nasty attacks, Huckabee did a good job of taking over when Carpenter stumbled in her Palin defense as well.

I was surprised when I actually watched the video after reading posts like yours, I would like to see every Palin discussion go as well as that one did, the democrat's attack on Palin was cut off at the knees by Huckabee.

Yep, the Romneybots are going to all come out of the woodwork against Palin.

It's the only chance they have before 2012.

Look what they are doing here at FR.

So, if Sarah is so terrible why even mention her? These people(both dimwits and dimwit lite republicans)don’t realize that they are just basically showing how terrified of Sarah they are when they trash her. Sarah has my vote, period.

Excellent post, that is my concern also, that Romney is so ruthless at this game that he is striving to clear out all of the republican competition and especially the conservatives by any means possible.

He will destroy conservatism, the GOP and it’s future prospects, the 2010 election or anything else that gets between him and what he wants.
