Six months after Barack Obama's inauguration, a persistent and noisy legion of doubters won't let go of an already debunked claim — that he is actually a foreign-born, illegal president.

Mainstream Republicans who want the issue to go away are having a tough time stamping it out as the so-called "birthers" resurface, with assists from talk show host Rush Limbaugh and CNN's Lou Dobbs.

Passions among the birthers run so high that Rep. Mike Castle, R-Del., was booed by his own constituents at a recent town hall meeting for saying Obama "is a citizen of the United States." He was responding to a woman who waved her own birth certificate, contended Obama was born in Kenya, and shouted, "I want my country back!"

And for nearly a MILLION bucks, he COULDN’T. Go figure.

Well, let me say this about that:

Let's see how "debunked" the birther movement is when the 2010 and 2012 elections come around, and voters demand that candidates for Senator and Representative present their long form birth certificates and college records.

The birthers could tell the 2010 and 2012 candidates something like this:

"Sorry, but if you don't want to show us your long form birth certificate and your college records, then we will look to vote for a candidate who is not scared to show us his long form birth certificate and his college records."

His own letter convinced me that something stinks in all of this.

A very astute observation - he will be trapped one of these days. Can you even imagine the Constitutional crisis that will ensue? Appointments made, laws signed, Federal Judgeships and SCOTUS nominations made, treaties signed, Executive Orders, and orders given to the Military as an invalid CIC - that will all be null and void. What happens to decisions made by Judges that he appointed?

Actually, the only thing that could debunk this controversy is if the Annenberg-backed FactCheck.org were to affirm the natural-born status of the Annenberg-launched Barack Obama. Now THAT would be the coup de grâce that would put the issue to rest...

It’s easy to believe there’s something amiss re: BHO’s birth certificate because the man is such a mystery. Information that would have been made public for any other politician remains hidden, and I don’t think anyone can be blamed for wondering what he’s hiding. If there were school transcripts out there, medical records, and really, just about every type of record, I think the birth certificate thing would go away. But BHO and his handlers keep all that information locked up. Why is anybody’s guess, and it only leads to BHO appearing not at all trustworthy, at least to those of us paying attention.

That stupid term is the latest attempt by the left to characterize anyone who doesn’t go along with a part of there agenda as having a mental disorder. If you think OJ Simpson was guilty, you’re a “racist”. If you don’t believe in quotas for the hiring of lady Five Star Generals, you’re a “sexist”. If you don’t think gay marriage should be recognized as legal you’re a “homophobe”.

And now for a real candidate for the 2013 version of “Trivial Pursuit”. What do you call someone who thinks a Democrat President should be a natural born citizen?

I had not heard previously that the address on the newspaper birth notice was phony. What is the source of that information? If this is true, I would guess that Obama’s parents had no address at the time of Obama’s birth, probably because they had traveled to Kenya after their lease expired.

0 has never proclaimed himself as a citizen of the United States. He is, however, a self-proclaimed citizen of the world. Is he legit as President, or do we have some back tracking to do?

The more the MSM tries to obscure this, and the longer Obama tries to dodge the issue the more believable it’s becomming to some of the people I know.

Obama needs to release the long form because he will not be able to ignore it during his reelection campaign. It will be a big issue. I thought he did not release anything, but then found out that he released his short form. My long form was lost in a flood in our basement many years back. When I joined the military, I requested my birth certficate from New York State and they sent the short form. The military accepted it. I guess with President, the short form is not good enough so somehow he is going to have to find his long form (could be difficult) or request for another form to be rewritten or retyped depending on how they wrote them out in the 60's. Bottom line, he has about three years to get this issue behind him because it will be huge in 2011 I believe.
