FAIRBANKS, Alaska -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin steps down Sunday giving few clues about her political future, which has been clouded by ethics probes, mounting legal bills and dwindling popularity.

A few things are known: She is scheduled to speak Aug. 8 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California, and has said she plans to write a book, campaign for political candidates from coast to coast and build a right-of-center coalition.

I agree with you. She is no quitter. I think she has something personal going on in her private life and this is as much her reasoning to resign than the liberal MSM thinking it has beat her down.

I sent her an email last night wishing her the best and thanking her for giving us conservatives something to hope for during the 08 election, since there was no one in the party before her that had energized the base like she did. I hope we have not seen or heard the last of her.

If McCain had not picked her, he could have had all his campaign stops held in a phone booth!

But the story wasn’t written by by anyone on the Miami newspaper’s staff. Follow the link to the source and read where it says “Associated Press.” That’s a wire service. It sends its biased, anti-Palin stories to newspapers all over the world.

Hello, hello? Buehler? Is anyone paying any attention?

Brilliant flanking maneuver indeed. And thanks for posting the clip from The Patriot. Great movie. I think I'll watch that again this evening. :)

In a perfect world, justice would come and when it did, the traitors in the state- run-media would be the first to feel it’s overwhelming and unforgiving presence.

I am sure writers at the Miami Herald are up nights worrying about Palin.

Isn’t this an AP article just posted or carried by the Herald?

Run for senate? That would be awesome.

It actually would be more of a detriment to her. There is a reason that U.S. Senators make lousy Presidents, with the Mutt and Jeff Show currently occupying the White House as the latest example of why the Senate should be the place where Presidential aspirations go to die a well deserved death.

U.S. Senators do not have the skill set required of an effective President, which is that of a skilled administrator. They have the skill set of a trained negotiator, which is what we elect them to do in our stead. More about this later.

Suffice it to say that needs to keep herself free from the constraints of elective office so that she can become the power center that her popularity can make her. Write the book(s), fund raise, campaign for candidates who believe as she does, get herself up-to-date on all pertinent issues and watch as the Lib/Dem world explodes one talking head at a time.

I agree.

Sarah had had enough of being the punching bag.

Or as a pundit put it.....”Now Sarah becomes the hunter, not the hunted”..............

It all starts at the Reagan Library.....August 8th.......we begin to take our country back..........

Remember what Sarah said at Lake Lucille. “I am not retreating, I am advancing in a different direction.”
(she quoted General Douglas McArthur)

She also asked us to trust her........In “The Alamo” directed by John Wayne, Richard Boone (playing Sam Houston) says, “I would trust Jim Bowie with my family, my honor and the future of Texas.” I would say the same about Sarah.............. except just take out Texas and put United States in there.........

True but the Herald had to make an editorial decision to run it. The Herald nor any other daily runs every story the AP throws over the wire. Running it in Miami is a decision made in Miami.

On Madison Avenue ... it is called ‘selling their product’; and they have it down to an art. The American public buys it (selling product) again and again

“They are What's saddest about the Tina Fey thing is the number of people who attribute Fey's lines on SNL to Palin.

They are delighted ... I'm sure.
Unfortunately there are millions that get their information and news from satire, comedy, ...IE. flat our lies (David Letterman) What he said was not funny. However, it did a huge disservice to Sarah Palin again and again, just about every night there is a zinger to two against Palin on Dave's show.

All the while their love for all things Obama ... how Smart he is etc. Makes me sick.

Ok, let me get my facts straight...

Palin is resigning because:

1) She was drunk, ran her car into a river with a live person in the passenger seat, and didn't tell the police until 9 hours later, when that person, now deceased, was crumpled up trying to get air from the tiny air pocket in the car?

OR

2) Was she or someone in her household running a brothel from her basement on Capitol Hill?

OR

Hmmmm 3)She's canoodling with Argentinian divorcee (oh, nevermind, you don't resign governorships over THAT);

OR

Am I getting closer?

Did she say we need to spread the wealth, she's visiting the 57 states, and that Iran-is-just-a-tiny-non-dangerous-little-country-why-be-worked-up?

Ok, ok, really, she must've called the police stupid for doing their jobs, not knowing the facts of the case...

I give up, I don't know why she resigned.

Sarc./off

Has anyone put up a live thread?? I’ve been looking for one but haven’t found it yet. My DSL is jamming so I’m not going to host one.

Fox News has live streaming video now but no sound from the picnic. Instead you get to listen to audio of the space shuttle. (click on shuttle endeavor and then click Palin picnic).

The left is deathly afraid of her.

I agree, the left is afraid of her. She can do a lot but her leaving early will be a killer if she plans on running for CiC.

I would hope that the likes of RINO imbeciles like Snowe, Collins and a host of others get dumped!

Snowe and Collins would be replaced by RATs, but at least they'd have the proper letter after their name.
