Dang! That is a great Churchill quote I’ve never heard before!

Romney’s the democrat’s favorite republican candidate. Like Maverick John, a safe man for (us) to lose with.

I don’t think a lot of analysis really needs to be made to come up with the conclusion that Romney is a loser.

In 2008, he was the most well funded candidate in the Republican field- bankrolled with his own money, so he didn’t even have to spend much time fundraising.

His results were miserable.

I see no way in heck that Romney stands a chance against Obama even if unemployment is 20% and we have hyperinflation and stuck in a quagmire in Darfur by November ‘12.

It never ceases to amaze me the lengths to which the Romneybots will go to pimp their favorite liberal. It’s blindingly obvious that the guy is unsuitable to be elected dog catcher. Yet, they continue to press on, clinging to the flimsiest of reasoning.

He can’t win because at heart he isn’t a conservative. Forcing his constituents to take or purchase health insurance isn’t something a conservative would do. I don’t care how damn pretty he is (Edwards was pretty too - see where that got him).....Go away Mitt.

Why do the GoP powers that be keep flogging their base with their disdain for returning to solid rooted politics?

I find Romney a little nervous type. Also he went for the lame Romneycare. I hope the Republicans do not try to shove him down our throats in 12.

I don’t mean to offend any Romney supporters on here but if he gets the 2012 nomination he will just be another younger version of Johnny Mac. His weakness in the South, as evident in the ‘08 primaries, is profound. Three years is a long time away but I just don’t see Romney winning any more electoral votes than Mac, unless The One would have a complete collapse, which it seems could soon be reality. I don’t think he can, or will, win. The GOP must nominate a TRUE CONSERVATIVE, no RINOs, a TRUE CONSTITUTIONALIST. These “open” Republican primaries where independents can vote must STOP. Republican primaries should be open to only registered Republican voters. The GOP must stop people from other parties nominating our candidates for president, then we might have a fighting chance.

I don't have the deep seated dislike of Romney that some here do, but I think he's a loser for a national candidacy.

Although we're going over a cliff with 0bama, I'm still grateful that John McCain isn't in the WH. Can you imagine the coverage Meghan McCain would get if she was the first daughter? Can you imagine how insulting McCain would be to conservatives if he were in the WH? He could barely stand us when he was asking for our votes.

Romney is much more of a chameleon. Whenever I heard him speak, I got the feeling there wasn't any core belief; simply a recitation of what he thinks will get votes.

Limbaugh has warned Republicans time and time again that the media is not their friend. The media advises Republicans not to go negative. They adored John McCain (until he was nominated.) Now, they're advising us to shout down the people asking about Zero's birth certificate, jettison Sarah Palin, and adopt Meghan McCain as a spokesperson for the social values of the party. Anybody who takes the Drive By media's advice probably spent their childhood years drinking urine out of a beer bottle because their "friends" told them it was a new brand.

If there is anyone here who doesn’t understand why we cannot support a slick socialist politician like Mitt Romney, God help you, but you’re on the wrong website. We went through this with the abortionist, gay rights activist, illegal alien supporting, gun grabbing Rudy Giuliani until someone created another website call WAnkers for Rudy and they all flew the coop. Hopefully, before too much FReeper blood is shed, someone will create a WAnkers for Romney site and we can be left to fight the good fight as we see fit!

FR is not for everyone!

Any other questions, Romney-bots?... :-)

I’m NOT a Romney supporter.

However, one may recall that all the smart guys said that Obama couldn’t win either. Oh yeah, and wasn’t Nixon toast after the Checkers speech also?

I wish I had a nickel for every FOS “expert prediction”.

Don’t trust him. He’s a RINO. Worse than a RINO. He’s the enemy within.

You never know where he honestly stands on any issue. What he promises today, he flips on tomorrow. It all depends on which way the political winds are blowing and which office he’s running for. He’s a liar.

He’s a big government socialist. His RomneyCare state run health care system is a big government boondoggle. It’s tyranny. Government provided, er, forced health care is tyranny not freedom or free markets. Do not believe the socialist propaganda supporting such nonsense.

Socialized medicine is simply another step to socialized government. Government solutions at the point of a gun are the opposite of what we need. This is socialism! Fascism! Mitt Romney is proud of his big government socialist creation and thinks it would be great for all of America. He wants to force you to accept what the state says is right for you. Your taxes will go up as government costs soar and the quality of the care you receive declines. High costs, long waits, rationing, poor or no service, big government force in other areas is where it leads.

“Hello, we’re from the government and we’re here to help you.” Believe that and you are a sucker!

Say NO to socialism! NO to RINOism! NO to Mitt Romney!!

Rebellion is brewing!!

Warning to Romney-bots...

Romneycare in MA will sink his candidacy. If Romneycare were just mediocre or “sort of sucky” then he’d have a chance. But it’s such a disaster that the only way Romney could get away with it is if he was a black Marxist with radical associates.

We've got slim pickins on our side. Nobody outstanding. Nobody that represents Conservatives.

Who would you rather have, Mitt Romney or Mike Huckabee? It's going to come down to the lesser of two evils. You just know that Mike Huckabee is spoilin' to be a spoiler again!

It reminds me of that old Churchill anecdote when a young backbench MP approached the great old man, pointed at the Labour benches and asked him what he thought of 'the enemy'. "The enemy?", he answered. "My boy, that is the opposition. The enemy is seated behind me."

One of the greatest quotes EVER!
