President Barack Obama and the Democrats in Congress use scapegoats to veil their own culpability in our economic woes. They pontificate about the evil “predatory lenders” as if they were the ones that sank us into recession/depression. In fact, all these straw-dog banks were doing was following Democratic sub-prime policy. As directed, lenders enabled poor people to buy homes that they had no chance in hell of paying for. If the banks refused to play, they could expect a “visit” at their offices or homes from that federally indicted, taxpayer-supported, election fraud thug-a-torium called ACORN whose lawyer now occupies the White House. Vice President Joe Biden is left to gaff up the truth. He claims the previous predatory legislation, that intensely ineffective pork-oozing edict, also known as the stimulus bill, a failure. If Viagra were this bill, Pfizer would be forced to limp into bankruptcy court ... small claims division.

Liberals like Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Barney Frank and Chris Dodd are the ones who got us into this economic mess in the first place through the CRA and absolutely no oversight of Fannie and Freddie which were allowed to run completely amuck.
The economic collapse of this country was brought about by liberals not conservatives. The sooner the entire country realizes that fact, the better off the country will be.
It is long past time NOT TO ELECT ANY SINGLE LIBERAL to a position in power in government. They need to be defeated completely and without hesitation on the part of all American voters who need to stop listening to what the MSM wants you to hear, not what the truth is.

Snowe and Collins of Maine are poster girls for the socialistic RINOs that have infested the Republican Party.
To flush out these RINOs is an impossible task, so it would seem that a conservative party's time has arrived. If those who would formulate such a party continue to waste time we'll never get it off the ground.

Education is in order. The policies that caused the “housing bubble” and “subprime crisis” were Democrat policies (CRA), and the Dems had a Congressional majority for the last two years of GWB’s final term. After all, Congress controls the purse strings and sets fiscal policy.
McCain (to give him credit for something) did try to get more oversight over FM & FM, but Congress shot it down.

You know this, I know it, but the vast majority of Americans don’t, and wouldn’t understand it if they were told. Back at the end of 2005, ex-texan and I posted warnings of a “major economic meltdown”, starting with the mortgage market, then a collapse of real estate values, and securities. We were mercilously ridiculed, so many FReepers didn’t know, or understand it either. How do you explain this to a bus driver?
