Why Are Liberals Surprised To Learn Their Heroes Are Racists?
By Doug Patton
July 13, 2009

The left has convinced many Americans that all political evil is on the right. Liberals revere their favorite socialists, past and present -- Mao, Che, Hugo, Fidel and others -- never labeling them for what they are and never associating them with leaders like Barack Obama. Meanwhile, they vilify tyrants like Mussolini and Hitler as "fascist" or "right-wing" and compare them to George Bush, Dick Cheney or Sarah Palin.

Liberals point to the Holocaust as if it were the greatest mass slaughter in history, while conveniently glossing over the deeds of communist murderers who make the Nazis look like amateurs. The truth is that leftist despots are more prone to kill "undesirables" among their own people than any other governments on earth, including Muslim states.

Racism is an ugly reality in 21st Century America. After centuries of watching it destroy whole civilizations, we find that it still contaminates our daily lives. But contrary to conventional wisdom, it is found primarily on the political left, which is responsible for perpetuating racist policies like racial quotas and abortion. U.S. Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor is a perfect example. Sitting Associate Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is another. Even President Barack Obama himself is a prime illustration.

Judge Sotomayor's flawed ruling as a federal appeals court judge, which threw out a promotions test for firefighters as racially biased because white applicants did better than black applicants, has been reversed by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Justice Ginsburg made a remarkably racist statement in print concerning the landmark 1973 Roe vs. Wade decision, which struck down restrictions on abortion in all fifty states. "At the time Roe was decided," Ginsburg stated in a recent interview, "there was a concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don't want to have too many of." (Emphasis mine.)

Which populations are those? And just who is it that has decided that they are populations "we don't want to have too many of"? (Methinks Justice Ginsburg has swerved into a liberal truth without intending to let the cat out of the bag.) In that statement, she sounds very much like Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, a towering racist heroine of the left who was very involved in the eugenics movement and a huge fan of the aforementioned Mr. Hitler.

But then, what should we expect from Judge Sotomayor, who has repeatedly stated her belief that "a wise Latina woman" would make a better judgment than a white male judge.

And what should we expect from Justice Ginsburg, a 1993 Clinton appointee who was confirmed 97-1 in the U.S. Senate with the help of a lot of gutless Republicans who had every opportunity to read her radical paper trail beforehand, but instead chose to ignore bizarre opinions like her belief that the age of sexual consent should be lowered to twelve?

And what should we expect from President Obama, who sat for twenty years under the hate-filled vitriol of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who preaches a racist doctrine known as black liberation theology?

It has been said that journalists write the first drafts of history every day. When the bloody history of the 20th Century is finally written, let us hope that those first drafts will be revised to expose the lies perpetrated by the left.

Let us hope that Americans learn that Stalin and Mussolini were great heroes of the academics and other intellectuals who surrounded Franklin Roosevelt. Let us hope that they know that Bill Clinton's mentor and Al Gore's father, both of whom stood in the way of racial desegregation, were Democrats, while the Rev. Martin Luther King was a registered Republican.

And let us hope that it is known that the first black president, the first Jewish female Supreme Court Justice and the first female Latino nominated to the High Court -- all of them liberal Democrats -- were, in their own strange way, racial elitists.

Hey Doug, how about an asterisk next to Hitler and Mussolini explaining that they were lefty socialists and continue to be misrepresented by the left. Just a pet peeve of mine.

I am so mad at the STUPIDITY and IMMATURITY of liberals. How can these people even BE Americans? Why can’t they MOVE to anther place that does not have a constitution like ours and form their own smarmy liberal vipers nest?

Mussolini and Hitler were certainly fascist but the were not right-wing. Right wing refers to preserving cultural values and customs and maintaining property rights and moral values.

Socialism and Fascism are left-wing philosophies. In fact, the democRat party has shifted from a fascist platform to a socialist platform. Up until the Obama administration they attempted to control and manage industry that was owned by private investors. Now they have simply confiscated those companies and they are controlling and managing government-owned companies. But the end result of both political systems is a centrally-controlled and managed economy. They are both polar opposites of a free economy.

Not strong enough....

Obama is not a liberal Democrat, he is a Marxist, America-hating thug.

Sotomayor is not a liberal Democrat, she is a leftist, racist reconquista thug.

There, fixed it.

Bump!

And Mussolini borrowed heavily from Marx.

You beat me to it. A pet peeve of mine as well.

On the continuum of governments I place tyranny at the far left and anarchy on the far right of a linear scale. The high school social studies nostrum about far left and far right in a circle, meeting in tyranny is nonsense.

They know they are racist. They also know that the two party system is a farce but if they ban together they might be able to make some small deals. The problem is, on both sides of the isle, the new larger "deal" is to make slaves of us all. The only real chance for any of us to keep our rights, is to kick all the crooks out of DC.

It is a continuum,
from authoritarian collectivism on one end to anarchy on the other,

with the optimum being a self restrained, moral populace with a government only needed to protect said populace from threats and infringements to life, liberty, and property.

There is no such thing as “right wing authoritarianism”, if “right wing” is defined as individualist, and the left wing defined as collectivist.

I agree. Doug Patton has written a pretty good article here, but I wish he had been clearer on your point.

It's hard to keep reminding them that "Nazi" stands for the "National Socialist German Worker's Party."

Everybody thinks of the Nazis as going after the Jews, but they forget that Hitler got his power by appealing to the working class, and the rich were also his scapegoats -- just like Obama does.

That's not the leftist way.

If they lived in "another place" they'd feel it their righteous calling to export their twisted religion and attack all places that do not hold their views.

Just as with Islam world domination, with no dissenting views permitted, is the liberal objective.

Then everything will be all sweetness and light.

Again, just as with the "religion of peace".

One of the Leftists' greatest achievements in the XX century was labeling Nazis as right wing. But that party's name is National Socialist Workers' Party.

The are only two features that distinguish Nazis from communists: (i) the former controlled businesses but left them formally (on paper) owned by individuals, whereas the communists expropriated all means of production; and (ii) Nazis believed in the Germanic superiority, whereas communists advocated internationalism (only on paper, in reality, as is well known, they were just as racist). The truth, the entire German nation veered so much to the left that it was represented by thee LEFTIST parties --- communists, Nazis and social-democracts. There was no right wing at the time.

Nor did anything change since then. The nazi that shot a guard at the Holocaust Museum was a self-avoud socialist and a registered Democrat.
