I went to public school and I write for a living. That said, the bottom line is that our public schools are turning out legions of kids who don't know how to peoperly use the words "their, there and they're" in a written form, much less write well.

In other words, it's like you're saying, "My kids got off the Titanic alive, so you're out of line if you say there was a large loss of life associated with that ship."
