Palin Says She'll Stump for Conservative Democrats (Those who shares her values)
ABC NEWS ^ | 7/12/2009 | RACHEL MARTIN

While Sarah Palin has publicly deflected questions on whether she plans to run for president in 2012, it's becoming clearer she's not stepping out of the national political arena anytime soon, even though she is resigning as Alaska governor.

The Washington Times reports that Palin plans to stump for conservative issues and even for Democrats who share her values on limited government, strong defense and energy independence.

"I will go around the country on behalf of candidates who believe in the right things, regardless of their party label or affiliation," she said in an interview, "People are so tired of the partisan stuff -- even my own son is not a Republican."

Palin's son, Track, 20, is registered as "non-partisan," according to the Times.

So far, according to the newspaper, responses from Democratic candidates have been lukewarm.

Just recently, another two ethics complaints were filed against her, bringing the total number of such complaints to 19.

A complaint filed early last week alleges that the governor misused state funds by accepting a housing stipend even when she stayed at her own home in Wasilla instead of at the governor's residence in Juneau.

Another complaint filed Saturday reportedly contends that Palin was paid for giving certain media interviews.

Palin's office issued a statement late Friday refuting the charges.

In it, Palin's chief of staff Mike Nizich fired back: "Although the governor would not have thought it possible, the latest complaint rises to a new level of absurdity in alleging that she has been paid for interviews that she has given to the news media. It is amazing to me that anyone could think that, let alone put their name behind it and once again seek to distract state officials and needlessly increase their work load."

The headline is misleading, they changed it today. Sarah is gonna create an Independent Conservative Movement, not a new party

If Sarah was paid for interviews I think Katie Couric or Charles Gibson would have spoken up by now.

If there a way under the law to punish the filing of a frivolous complaint, I hope it is exercised. The situation is identical to the filing of a false police report.

Technically, she didn’t say that, the word “Democrats” was added by the reporter.

Rahm cooked up the strategy and Pelosi signed off that they needed rural Conservative Democrats to gain the majority. They all still give her the vote when needed.

All I know is that I am in a very conservative state with some Dem conservatives but when the Dems need the votes they forget they are conservative.

We need to take back the House or make it close and that means defeating every last Dem we can. This is not the time to be playing around with someone saying they are a conservative Dem. When the Dems voted for Pelosi for Speaker every last one voted for her. Since Ralph Hall of TX became a Republican the Dems vote together on leadership.

I have had it with Pelosi and her fronting the Obama agenda. She tells Dems to vote against programs when they might have trouble in their campaigns against a Republican. You cannot trust a Dem that Sarah would campaign for not to go to DC and vote for Pelosi because when she says jump, they ask How High?

My two cents on why it is a bad idea. See any Dems campaigning for the GOP members?

Thank you. She said anyone who shares her views. In fact, Tammy Bruce yesterday wrote an article about how Sarah is gonna create the Independent Conservative Movement, at first I thought “Ok interesting theory” but then it was posted on her SarahPac and on her Facebook page, which basically confirmed what she said to be true. A Conservative Movement..where do I join..I am SICK and TIRED of these RINOS. People should have heard the crap that came out of Karen Hughes mouth today, a supposed Republican, the same goes for Crist

I’m sure if good old Zell Miller where running against most RINOs, even if he ran as a Dem, we would cheer Zell on and she would stump for him. This is proof it is about the principle, not the party label.

With that said, however, it is interesting how the media tried to frame this as she was supporting Democrats when, in her mind, she may have been thinking about Libertarians.

Palin Hints At Independent Conservative Movement

Sarah

**UPDATE: It’s an honor to note that Governor Palin has linked to this post at both her official Facebook page and at the SarahPAC site.**
In an interview with the Washington Times, Palin makes her most direct comments yet about Conservatism versus the Republican Party. In my humble opinion, it’s clear the GOP, unfortunately, is lost beyond the point of return. When you’re one year out of key campaigns to take back Congress in 2010 and Meghan McCain is The Oracle of the party, you know it’s over. If Tina Brown thought Ms. McCain’s willingness to be a Useful Idiot for liberals would undermine the conservative movement (and consequently Sarah Palin), she should take a serious and long look at what their attacks on Palin provoked: a stronger, more independent, more determined conservative leader and base.

Enter now Sarah Palin with very encouraging comments that lead one to believe that she is indeed planning to do what she must: build an independent conservative movement and take this nation back from the liberals which now control both parties. Thanks liberals, for provoking Sarah into the national scene while vetting that family at the same time.

One thing I will say, the Washington Times with their headline for this exclusive interview reveal an anti-Palin stance. She is, don’t doubt, a threat to every existing political status quo. I hope the Washington Times and their editors realize, sooner than later, that the Palin movement is unstoppable and their credibility would be saved simply by reporting the news instead of becoming a GOP version of the NYT.

So Rachel Martin doesn’t get it either!

Sarah is simply going to bring the Reagan Dems back. (what a novel idea)

This is just a smart ploy by SP. No Rat is going to want her to campaign for them, but she can say she was willing to be bi-partisan w/o really doing so.

Not from this article, but, today’s’ WT article:

“The governor, 45, said she shared former House Speaker Newt Gingrich’s view that Republicans,
now trailing Democrats and independents in registration in many states,
should back moderate to conservative Democrats in congressional districts and states where Republicans stand almost no chance of winning.”

If the district will obviously support a conservative,
why not find a Republican conservative to back ?
Tie the Democrats to Obama and Pelosi and Frank and Franken.
And the plunging DOW and socialized medicine and Sotomayor and cap and trade and amnesty ,etc.
We have to take back the House and Senate in 2010 because
the majority party
controls the body’s chairmanships and committees.

"Sarah is gonna create an Independent Conservative Movement, not a new party"

But the dimwits want her to form a new losing party, so Obama has a chance to win.
