Susan Estrich: Voters sure to punish Palin (Barf Alert)
Inquirer ^ | Sun, Jul. 12, 2009 | Susan Estrich

You don't need a briefing book on being a mother to answer this one:

What do you do when your daughter comes home complaining that she wants to drop off the swim team or never go to school again because the other kids are being mean and saying terrible things about her family?

Sure, the first few times, you want to beat up the bullies with your bare hands. But you don't. These are life lessons. You tell her about "sticks and stones," you tell her to swim even faster, laugh in their faces, and prove by her success that she's better than they are. Listen to your mother, you say, mothers know about this.

Sarah Palin didn't just take a political risk when she quit the governorship of Alaska without completing her first term. She took herself out of electoral politics for good. Alaskans will never again elect her. And half a term as governor will never be seen as enough to qualify for the presidency.

Especially for a quitter and a sore sport.

Susan, after the last ten or eleven months, in her place, I’d be sorely tempted to say, “...Promise?”

As I’ve said before...if this works, really works, she’s the president somewhere down the line. And if not...she’s retired from politics. So basically there’s no downside for her.

Is there an uglier, more hate-filled woman than Susan Estrich anywhere on earth? I don’t think so.

I was hired at a print and copy store a few months ago. The guy was a total jackass, so after a week I told him to pay me, I quit. So I guess that makes me a quitter too. I wasn’t gonna stay at a place I was not wanted, and the money was crap so I said screw this, I am outta here. Pride is sometimes more important then staying somewhere you are miserable

An ugly crone with an ugly little mind.

I wonder how she ever got a job on TV?

“If by punish she means ‘vote for’ then yes. Voters will punish her.”

Yeah, agree. I think perhaps Palin is making a statement that she is a conservative and not a Republican. This probably aligns her with the majority of those on this blog. In fact, it seems to me that the Tea Party movement may actually evolve into a political party in it's on right. If this should happen, then we may very well see the political spectrum roughly equally divided with the Democrats representing the the far left, the Republicans the mushy middle, and the Tea Party the conservative right. This would probably give the Republicans (mushy middle)the swing vote going to the left or right issue by issue. But, who knows...

Of course the dead media will be there hoping for the slightest thing upon which to build an attack.

Yes, Sarah is indeed irrelevant...

Yep, so irrelevant that they need to send a flood of media to a PICNIC. I wish Sarah would have pushed these media bastards overboard on that boat of hers when she had the chance. I would have sent 1000 bucks to her SarahPac just for doing that

Are these clowns like Estrich incapable of comprehending the written word? It was costing Alaska millions by Palin staying on fighting these bogus charges. She did the noble thing. These people are as dense as a door-knob, but thankfully it sounds as if a large percentage of the American public is not.
(My way of expressing total agreement with what you just said.)

What should she have told the citizens of Alaska when Marxist looters tie her and her staff up with bogus charges and cost the state $2 million dollars?

Hanging in, fighting with one arm tied behind her back, expanding her staff, running up state expenses a few more million, might be perceived by some as tough and principled. But I bet no one on the left would ever say so including you, Susan Estrich.

Susan Estrogen may be just a tad bit jealous of Sara Palin, especially in the looks department and the brain department.

"Sarah Palin didn't just take a political risk when she quit the governorship of Alaska without completing her first term. She took herself out of electoral politics for good."

This is their fondest wish and dream, but if they really had the slightest belief that it were true, they wouldn't waste their time on her. They would cover her like thay cover Huckabie: Not at all.

I think your read on this is spot on.

3 things I see that seem to solidify this as a real possibility are the lengths the MSM and the Left are going to discredit and marginalize:

1. Sarah Palin
2. The nationwide tea parties
3. Free Republic

An awful lot of time/$$/energy is being spent telling the rest of America how wrong and/or unimportant all of the above are.

Susan Estrich: Voters sure to punish Palin

As if voters have the time to care? You know like keeping their jobs, holding on to their savings, family interests... I did not know Palin was running for anything. Palin commented that she would back both a Republican or a Democrat when she saw fit.

They just don't know what to do about Palin. They throw the sticks, they throw the stones; but only ricochets back to hurt them.
