Obama Worship vs. Palin Worship...What's the difference?
7-11-09 | Bob J

Posted on 07/11/2009 10:48:53 AM PDT by Bob J

We all loved Sarah. She rescued the sinking McCain campaign, said all the right things and holds pretty much the same positions of most FReepers.

They all love Obama. He rescued the sinking DNC, said all the right things and holds pretty much the same positions of most liberals.

Dems, liberals and the MSM are condemned for their all consuming adoration, virtual blindness to any mistakes or faults and slobbering worship of the man. Yet when the same thing happens to Palin it turns into a virtue.

Sarah was a real coup for conservatives. But when she announced her resignation many of us saw this for what it was, a deal breaker for a Presidential campaign. Oh she might run in '12 and she might even win the nomination. But she will not be able to shake the black mark of being labeled a "quitter" by her opponent and the MSM and it is very unlikely she will be able to garner the votes among right leaning dems and independents needed to win the general election.

Sarah decided to give up the hardship of public service. Hers was much harder than most, her opponents and the MSM were relentless in their vicious attacks and persecution. Instead she decided to go for the gold, writing books, the lucrative speakers circuit, not having to answer to a hostile critics and media.

I don't blame her, I think she did what was best for herself and family so I hold no animosity for it. But let's not deceive ourselves. She effectively has taken herself out of the game, a game in which we all were invested heavily in her political future. We NEEDED Sarah to lead a conservative revolution and anyone who thinks she can do it from the sidelines, the speakers circuit, is fooling themselves, just look at Newt. Sarah wnet for Sarah and we were kicked to the curb.

All I'm wondering is if the Palin cheering section, the one that praises every move, every decision whether it's good or bad, the ones that believe she can do no wrong, the ones who look to Sarah as a second coming of some sort, can you please take off the blinders for one second and see reality of the situation?

I ask this because I see these blind followers possibly leading us down a road to failure in '12. Let Sarah be, let her speak, write books, continue saying all the right things, make lots of money and establish some peace in her private life. She, of all, knows her decision has taken her out of the presidential ball game and she is good with it (if she doesn't then she does not have the political savvy to earn our support).

But quit with the relentless, vicious, nasty and foul attacks on your fellow FReepers who have taken the blinders off and made peace with what this all means. You're not doing Sarah any good and of she read some of things that are being written here I have a feeling she'd be the first to blush and ask it to stop.

What’s the difference? Get back to me when FReepers start building shrines to her or painting her naked riding a unicorn like some on the left have done for the Zero one.

Seriously though, the difference is pretty obvious, FReepers are fans of Palin because of what she stands for. Obama worshipers grovel over the man in spite of what he stands for. In one case it is about rooting for the principles and glad we have someone who stands for them, in the other case it is all about the personality, principles be damned.

All in your twisted inane imagination. Just pure unmitigated BS as usual.

Furthermore: it is impossible to read your posts without a powerful suppression of my gag reflex. Just plain inane. And this ridiculous vbanity takes the cake.

Cool, when I expect you will not be posting all over every Sarah Palin thread that she said she will be “stumping for Democrats” since that is a lie. bye

Here is a quick lesson in understanding journalists. You’ll notice that the article there claiming she would, she didn’t not actually say that. The actual parenthetical statement by Palin was she would stump for Conservatives no matter the party, no where did she say Democrats. It is the reporter who added that word. When reading stories in the media, it is always important to look at the actual parenthetical statements and see if they match what the reporter editorialized. In most cases, like this, they don’t.

Those were her words--not mine.

Actually, those where neither of your words, they where a reporter editorializing on what they want you to think Palin's words where.

The first priority of Talk Radio is not to make the case for conservativism. It is to drive up ratings. Palin does drive up ratings for them. That is why Talk Radio embraces Palin.

The editors at National Review are right about Palin. She needs to show she is a serious candidate who can talk about the issues. She needs to fire her current advisers and hire more competent ones. The problem is the political consultants at the RNC are not great either. It’s as if any competent consultants at the RNC left when Kark Rove resigned his post at the White House.

Thanks you, perfectly said.

Sadly, and the GWB experiment woke me up on this, many Americans take talk radio as fact and as their only source of information. The combination of talk radio AND Pelosi/Obama actions is driving many to the brink of insanity. And the Messiah worship of Palin is an example.

"I will go around the country on behalf of candidates who believe in the right things, regardless of their party label or affiliation"

The above is what Sarah said, yall are twisting her words to fit your hate Sarah agenda.   Here's a link for you.  LINK  You'll note that it was posted 1 hour 32 minutes and four seconds before Rush left the air for 9 days, and 1 hour 32 minutes and four seconds before Governor Sarah Palin walked up to a microphone to announce she was stepping down.  Rather interesting timing huh.  I had spent the last eight months or so defending Palin against all comers.  So I find your mistaken logic here to be rather sad.  You don't have a clue what my thoughts on Palin are.

At the link you'll see me defending Palin against some criticism from someone I respect here on the forum.

As for mistaking Palin's comments, you're off base there as well.  There are absolutely no circumstances whatsoever that I want Palin backing a Demcorat during the 2010 general election.  If she wants to back a better Democrat when they run against a worse Democrat in the primaries of 2010, fine.  She didn't make that distinction.  Therefore I'm taking her to task.

Clearly she is saying that princibles matter to her more then party label. Imagine that, someone that knows what they believe and is willing to walk the walk and not just talk the talk.

Okay ace, will she be walking the walk and talking the talk after the election too, if she helps get conservative Democrats (as if there were one) elected, and assures that the Democrats keep Congress?  Right now there's some stalling going on regarding the F-22.  We can keep that program alive until 2010, but beyond that it's going to be impossible.  If Palin helps a Democrat keep their job, it may provent us from taking control of Congress.  So just write off the F-22 if she helps Democrats.  Write off trying to block nationalized healthcare.  Write off our military as Obama lays waste to it.  Write off Israel.  Write off the Republicans heading up Congressional Committees.  Write off Republicans being able to block hearings against Cheney and Bush.

I'm not just taking Palin to task for the fun of it.  I'm taking her to task because her idea to back Demcorats, even if they are somewhat decent, is a boneheaded plan, that will help Obama retain the majority in Congress.  So yes, Palin may help some good Demcorats, and wind up screwing the nation over because the only way to put a roadblock in front of Obama is to take back Congress.  What if she does help ten rather reasoned Democrats get elected?  Is that more important at this point in time, or is taking back Congress so we can block the fascist marxist more important.  You tell me.

You folks bashing Sarah because she not ANOTHER PARTY HACK disgust me. Go join DU or HufPost, that is where you belong.

If you don't care if the Democrats retain control of Congress beyond 2010, then you belong over there, not me.
