Washington Times Has Now Updated Title from "EXCLUSIVE: Palin to stump for conservative Democrats"
Washington Times ^ | July 12, 2009 | Ralph Z. Hallow

ANCHORAGE, Alaska | Brushing aside the criticisms of pundits and politicos, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she plans to jump immediately back into the national political fray — stumping for conservative issues and even Democrats — after she prematurely vacates her elected post at month's end.

The former Republican vice-presidential nominee and heroine to much of the GOP's base said in an interview she views the electorate as embattled and fatigued by nonstop partisanship, and she is eager to campaign for Republicans, independents and even Democrats who share her values on limited government, strong defense and "energy independence."

"I will go around the country on behalf of candidates who believe in the right things, regardless of their party label or affiliation," she said over lunch in her downtown office, 40 miles from her now-famous hometown of Wasilla — population 7,000 — where she began her political career.

I heard Rasmussen say yesterday that there are more Conservatives than Republicans and more Democrats than Liberals.

But what she does by saying this, is signaling the GOP that she isn't theirs.

BINGO !!!

And the GOP better get the hint !!

I think Sarah is doing the right thing, period!

She is getting our of “political office” so she can enter the “political fray”. She strikes a nerve with the public: “She is like me! She says the things I think! How refreshing!”

And I think she can have an incredible influence on some of the races in 2010. She can build her base and that of the party. Come 2012 she can either toss her hat in the ring, play second banana or bide her time until 2016.

Now if the GOP had a grain of sense they would create a new “Contract with America” and nationalize the 2010 election. Simple things like: An end to pork. An end to endless debt. A strong national security position and support our troops in the field. These are things that normal American can rally around and Sarah Palin is one of the cheerleaders that can get the message out.

OK, rant off.

You sound like a hard core GOP groin leech. Since you’re new I suggest you go take a gander at the FR homepage and find where it says that FR is a republican site.

I wonder if she is going to tell the Dem’s she is going to come and campaign for them, or just show up. THAT would be a scream—watching the dem’s run for the hills at the sight of Sarah carrying their banner.

Anybody know how many Democrat congressman are pro-life?

There are 31 pro-life Democrats in the House.

Pro-abortion Democrat Barack Obama may have captured the presidency, but the pro-life group working within the party to change its pro-abortion position has a reason to celebrate. Democrats for Life of America backed several pro-life Democrats for Congress and five won their races.

“The pro-life Democratic Caucus will once again increase,” Kristen Day, the director of the group told LifeNews.com.

“This will be only the second time in 30 years that the number of pro-life Democrats increases instead of decreases,” the said. “The first time we made gains was in 2006 due to the work of pro-life Democrats all over this country advocating on behalf of the pro-life cause.”

Twenty-six pro-life incumbent members of Congress kept their seats. They were joined by five new pro-life Democrats.

There was a day when you could trust some democrats, however most of the became Republicans under President Reagan. One of the best congressmen I ever had (Bob Stump) was a demorat but switched to the GOP (smartman).

I have MAJOR trouble with the dimo thought process. I don't like stupid people and all dims I know are “stuck on stupid.

I hope Sarah has learned the to a dim, politics is a blood sport.

Sarah, give no quarter!

This will be interesting - there probably aren’t that many candidates from either party who wouldn’t want her campaigning for them. Some rats are going to be suffering from whiplash.

I’ll vote for a conservative democrat

Is there even one somewhere? Somehow I doubt it.

“That’s the worst picture of Palin I’ve ever seen.”

Well, it does show her age a bit. But I’m over 50, so she looks good to me.
