Washington Times Has Now Updated Title from "EXCLUSIVE: Palin to stump for conservative Democrats"

ANCHORAGE, Alaska | Brushing aside the criticisms of pundits and politicos, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she plans to jump immediately back into the national political fray — stumping for conservative issues and even Democrats — after she prematurely vacates her elected post at month's end.

The former Republican vice-presidential nominee and heroine to much of the GOP's base said in an interview she views the electorate as embattled and fatigued by nonstop partisanship, and she is eager to campaign for Republicans, independents and even Democrats who share her values on limited government, strong defense and "energy independence."

"I will go around the country on behalf of candidates who believe in the right things, regardless of their party label or affiliation," she said over lunch in her downtown office, 40 miles from her now-famous hometown of Wasilla — population 7,000 — where she began her political career.

Folks even if there is just a handful of conservative Democrats, Sarah will have made her point. She is bigger than the Republican brand, she has put the RINO’s on notice, and there will be no way that any critic can ever claim that she is NOT a conservative if she supports conservatives of both parties.

Again for the umpteenth time Sarah is NOT supporting the Marxist Obama and anybody she supports for Congress must vote the way she wants them to-get it!

There are no longer any conservative democrats I have heard of. No one has come up with a name in almost 300 posts.

Which leads to the next question, why would any politician running for congrees their first time want to be in such a party? -- a party they have no plans of caucusing with.

Again if Sarah has any expectations of genuine conservatives running as Democrats, then I'm not with her. But more likely, if Sarah is instead just trying to attract Democrat voters to her coalition, then I say good strategy.

"believe the best place to start building a common sense conservative coalition is the same place where most of that coalition currently resides. That place happens to be the Republican party."

Nope, they had a whole hell of a lot of power from 1994-2006 and blew it!

They need to go the way of the Whigs.

From my understanding of the Whig party history a large portion left when it died and became Republican.

This is not meant to provoke I'm just fueling the debate that needs to happen.

At some point I may be persuaded to change my mind but, If we get another McCain as the nominee in 2012 it's over people.

Do you really believe any RAT will advance any issue you may claim to care about.

While they are much thinner on the ground than they once were, there are Democrats who are strong supporters of military preparedness. Scoop Jackson, Sam Nunn, or going back even farther, John C Stennis, whom the Navy named a Carrier after. Sure, part of that was more "Jobs for the district/state", but I'll take that over those who would raid the military budget for "freebies" for the proles in their districts.

Listen, when your "darling" declares, ""People are so tired of the partisan stuff", and that she'll gladly campaign for America's unicorn, the "conservative Democrat", you can call me anything you want. I'm not sure if Palin's qualified to be president, but every day she looks less and less like any conservative which I am familiar.

The line about "tired of the partisan stuff", sounds a LOT like her mentor John McCain and his illegitimate son, Linda Grahamnesty.

Peggy is absolutely insane with hate for Sarah. Sad.

Peggy has always been pro-abortion. Moreover, just because she wrote speeches for Reagan, don't assume she is conservative. She is a co-founder of wowOwow.com, a left-leaning blog, and her son goes to Saint Anne's private school in Brooklyn--one of the most left-wing in NYC, and one where gay indoctrination began back in 1992.

Yeah, what idiot would believe that she would support Reid or Pelosi, excuse me while I laugh out loud. She is supporting CONSERVATIVES and CONSERVATIVES ONLY. No Democrat is gonna call her, trust me, no Democrat is gonna have her on their campaign trail bashing Obama..she is just making a point, she is sending a message to the GOP, ENOUGH WITH YOUR NONSENSE. Geez, I’ve said it before and I will say it again, the same ones who are upset about what she said are the same ones that would want her head on a stick if she came out tomorrow and endorsed Crist and Collins, it’s not about the damn party, it’s about BELIEFS

She is gonna create her own party...

She didn't say that. For somebody who uses her name as your screen name you should be more careful how you represent her opinion.

Why don’t you tell us your pet issues again instead of your constant trolling and name calling? I’ll bet we find a liberal under all that.

"She’s taking the fight outside the box and trying to build a coalition."

Let me lay three names on you of people who tried to build a coalition, John Anderson, Ross Perot and Ralph Nader. How did that work out?

Nothing could please David Axelrod more than a third-party run by Sarah Palin.

I know she never said that, but it’s looking that way, I could be wrong, but I would be shocked if it wasn’t true. It looks more and more like she is pretty darn upset with the Republican party and might be done with them

No kidding? Fred Thompson? WOW! A man I would have voted for with no problem. Figures. So he is the one that first wanted to bring Sarah out of the wilds. Interesting.

Where would Sarah presume to find scumbags who share her values of “limited government, strong defense and energy independence”?

Considering that 40 percent of the country(perhaps more) consider themselves Conservative first, Axelrod should be worried

She won’t find one, that’s the point, she is gonna say how she tried, but couldn’t find one Democrat that shared her beliefs, end of story

I don't believe a third party run would be wise. I don't think third parties are going to accomplish anything. They are for the idealists.

But Axelrod, Emmanuel, and the press hyenas go hunting for this lady every day. The GOP has no one else with star power, and people are very wary of political parties as a whole. Only the hard core Dems really love their party right now.
