ANCHORAGE, Alaska | Brushing aside the criticisms of pundits and politicos, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she plans to jump immediately back into the national political fray stumping for conservative issues and even Democrats after she prematurely vacates her elected post at month's end.
The former Republican vice-presidential nominee and heroine to much of the GOP's base said in an interview she views the electorate as embattled and fatigued by nonstop partisanship, and she is eager to campaign for Republicans, independents and even Democrats who share her values on limited government, strong defense and "energy independence."
"I will go around the country on behalf of candidates who believe in the right things, regardless of their party label or affiliation," she said over lunch in her downtown office, 40 miles from her now-famous hometown of Wasilla population 7,000 where she began her political career.

Have you read the article? Her comment is clear: She OFFERS to support those who are agreeing with HER agenda.
If the purpoted "conservative" Democrats reject her offer, they risk losing their voters.
Whether there are indeed conservative dems is insignificant. There are however dems who ran on a platform claiming to be conservative on key issues.
Palin is helping to expose the fake conservative dems and peel away their voters for real conservatives.
If Sarah can find some Conservative Democrats out there then I say she should support them. Sarah isn’t about party, she is about country. John Ziegler had on his radio show yesterday a good friend of his, who happens to be a Democratic Governor(I forgot which state) and he sounded like a good guy. Not all Dems are bad, it is the hard core leftists who are the evil ones. I doubt Sarah can find a Conservative Democrat though, I don’t think they exist. I’d rather have a Conservative Democrat in the Senate then a RINO Republican who has an R next to their name but can give a rats behind about the party
Neither do I. LOL.
Exactly. She will not get a single invitation from a Blue Dog Democrat, but she will attract a lot of conservative Democrat voters and they will cross party lines to vote for her in 2012 just like they did with Reagan.
That's how I'm reading it too. If that's what she's up to, it's the best winning strategy an (R) presidential candidate could advance at this time. Encouraging.
The GOP brand is extremely damaged. It is time to think outside the box and appear more independent. If you can find a couple Zell Millers out there or even a Joe Lieberman type, it would be a good thing. I am just not sure where there is one.
Party above everything... a losing strategy.
They reached out and kissed a$$ (then caved).
She's reaching out with qualifications (share my views).
McPain and Bush moved to them, Sarah says you move to me. BIG difference,
That was the first thing I thought, but, why should she work for the GOP anyways, the way she’s been treated?
Do you blame her?
It will be interesting to see if Palin is attempting to do what Reagan did in 1980: peel away enough conservative Democrats from an incumbent Democrat to win the presidency the next go-round.
I sure don’t know of any Conservative Democrats, but then what do I know.
As for keeping the veto proof majority, that’s an interesting observation.
How many Democrats have we seen jump ship to defeat things like the Stimulus bill?
I don’t know who is giving Palin advice, but they should be on the DNC payroll. I wouldn’t give them a dime for the direction they seem to be urging her to go in.
‘phile’ just means lover of. Works for me.
This tells me Palin is trying to find new revenue streams and it's more about Palin than the cause.
I liked her. I was anxious to see her and hear her but if she doesn't care if she's working to keep Pelosi and Reid in their positions, I don't care about her. This is destructive.
Huh? Several of us have, I started on #3. The Palin love-fest is going to hurt us even more. When Bush went to the dark side on immigration and Harriet Meyers, we all stood up and said “hell no” and he listened.
Instead of criticizing her on this as we should, the glassy eyed “Palin can’t do no wrong” crowd just ignores the obvious danger then criticizes/attacks anyone with the temerity to disagree. In other words, they’re acting just like the MSM does to Obama, yet they can’t see it nor recognize the irony of it all.
This Palin worship is as bad or worse than the Obama worship we saw during the election and now.
Everyone gets stressed at one time or another. It’s how we deal with the stress that separates the leaders from the failures. Palin has faced her stresses with a smile and forward-looking optimism.
Heck, she’s even got me feeling optimistic for the first time since the election.
BTW Steve Schmidt, Collin Powell, Olympia Snowe and Chuck Hagel are all GOP... Do you support them too? Party above everything?
A lot of us are revolted by the GOP. I know I am, and at this point, I feel no fealty at all to them. I was kind of hoping that she would call herself a conservative rather than a Republican, then I realized that she has never called herself that. With this announcement, she announces that she is not of the party.
That’s not an original thought from me, somebody pointed it out. And I’m glad he did.
Please explain to me how working to keep Democrats in the majority and Pelosi and Reid in their positions is a good tactic. I must be stupid because I don’t see it.
No one said she had to work for the GOP but she shouldn’t work with dems who might vote with her on one or two issues and against her on 100 others.
Does this make sense?
Then she should leave the GOP.
It's getting hard sometimes to tell the difference between democrats and republicans.
