What If Palin Were President?

Can you believe the gall of these Sarah Palin cultists? Presidential aspirations? This is a woman who named one of her kids "Track," for God's sake. (Well, if it really is her kid.)

William Buckley once wrote that he rather would "entrust the government of the United States to the first 400 people listed in the Boston telephone directory than to the faculty of Harvard University."

But running government is no longer a suitable vocation for the bumbling proletariat. It's for folks with schoolin' and such. It's a job for herculean thinkers with degrees from Ivy League schools. In other words, no one from Alaska need apply.

Former sports reporters certainly won't do. We need former constitutional scholars. Who else, after all, has a better understanding of how to undermine the document?

Really, where would we be if a bumpkin like Palin were president? With her brainpower, we probably would be stuck with a Cabinet full of tax cheats, retreads and moralizing social engineers.

If Palin were president, chances are we'd have a gaffe-generating motormouth for a vice president. That's the kind of decision-making one expects from Miss Congeniality.

The job of building generational debt is not for the unsophisticated. Enriching political donors with taxpayer dollars takes intellectual prowess, not the skills of a moose-hunting point guard.

The talent to print money we don't have to pay for programs we can't afford is the work of a finely tuned imagination, soaring gravitas and endless policy know-how.

Palin is so clueless she probably would have rushed through some colossal stimulus plan that ended up stimulating nothing.

If Palin were president, no one doubts this nation would have continued the Bush-era policy of indefinite detention of enemy combatants and the CIA's program of transferring prisoners to other countries without legal rights. Be...

The Oval Office is no place for someone with administative experience.

But, not very good satire. In fact, I'd say its imbecilic satire at best.

What's your reaction to the article linked in comment# 9? I'm curious. The next comment on the thread from Gator113 was, "Good one!"

This says it all.

I'd rather have an honest woman than this dishonest, marxist mediocrity. In case somebody doesn't get it, this was satire. ____________________________________________________________A woman who can give birth to a down syndrome baby and keep it has more courage and balls than all those “so called intellectuals” in d.c.

Whenever anybody alludes to Palin’s lack of experience and/or knowledge on foreign and national affairs, they only people she might be deficient to are other conservatives. But even some so-called “more knowledgeable” conservative fall short in certain respects. Newt Gingrich is a big believer in AGW for example. But compared to lib Dems, Palin comes off much superior. Her common sense makes her far more competent than the Ivy-league “educated” leftists who crawl out from under their rocks to tell us how great big government is. To say that she is less competent than some non-entity like Barack Obama is a sick joke. When she was mayor of Wasilla, she was more qualified than that dope to be president.

The linked article is so elitist and snide, ridiculing in totally unfounded ways, fraught with an air of ego maniac;... demonstrating Superiority of the self deluded and the totally self absorbed is so blatant as to be a farce.

It is difficult there is a person that thinks this way ... much less that they would write it down for others to see.

What is wrong with Washington is that they believe they are gods; and we are so fortunate to have their expertise, ... everyone should bow down and praise them..

WRONG! WRONG! WRONG on every level. We need to clear out everyone there and elect all new Senators, Congressional Representatives, Department heads, and all entrenched Departments whose record shows socialist, communist, Marxist bent. Ala, the State Department first!

God help us in our day, God bless America. Amen.

Every single sentence in the cited article is unbelievably self conceited.
As if the writer is smarter and knows more than all the peoples of America.
It is protection of their bailiwicks from the correction the people are demanding.

Our former Presidents were not all Yale, Harvard, and elitist schools, colleges, Universities. How come all at once they are presuming they are the Einsteins of today.

Give me a break!

It is laughable... if it wasn't so serious.

Satire is a good method to show absurdity.

We need a fresh way of seeing reality.

We are in a world of hurt, and there is a very real chance that we will not recover from our current despotism.

I believe to make light of the situation ... only works for the side of the people in Washington, and those who support them. It does next to nothing for changing anything ... in fact we tend to disregard things, situations, circumstances we see as funny.

Our current time is not funny

Think about it as if it were being said about YOU, ... or one our children, or one of you immediate family.

If anything it diffuses some of our legitimate objections currently happening on a daily basis in Washington.!!! JMO!

I just got on the Net and,of,course,to FR immediately after Drudge. I saw this title “What If Palin Were President?” on the sidebar and went to it like a bee to clover. LOLOL! Pretty good stuff. This, and the “I still hate you” article were amusing, but making a really good point. If the GOP doesn’t nut up and start using the radical playbook against the radicals themselves,it’s gonna get much, much worse than it already is.We can only (choke!) HOPE.

I don't know if it could get worse than it already is, but what has been tried has failed. I don't know if going Alinsky on the rats will work when the MSM is on their side, but trying to work with them - like GWB and John McCain - has been a miserable failure. I don't see how we can lose any more than what's happened already.

If Palin were President we’d have someone who understands limited government.

If Palin were President, the Iranians, North Koreans, and especially the leaders of Al Qaeda, would be worried about ending up dead, stuffed and on display in the oval office or other suitable space in the White House.

Of course Ahmanutjob is kinda scrawny to make a decent rug or wall hanging, so he'd probably end up with just his head mounted on the wall
