The Marshalls say they fear retaliation at home or when they go outside. They are considering arming themselves, but they're concerned about the possible problems that come with guns.

I'd be more concerned about the possible problems of NOT having some guns around, myself.

Out of nowhere, the six were attacked by dozens of teenage boys, who shouted ''This is our world'' and ''This is a black world'' as they confronted Marshall and his family.

The Marshalls, who are white, say the crowd of teens who attacked them and two friends June 27 on Girard Street numbered close to 50. The teens were all black.

Is this a hate crime? Of course not./sarc.

The police are saying, “Right now, the case is not being classified as a racial hate crime.” I wonder how long it would take them to classify it as a hate crime if 50 white punks had assaulted a black family.

You can bet if a group of white kids did this to a black family it would be a hate crime (and rightfully so). This should be a hate crime too. I don’t agree with hate crime laws, but since we have them, they need to be fairly applied.

You know, I thought when Obama got elected we were going to all going to get along and sing Kumbaya. I just don’t get it. :(

Right now, the case is not being classified as a racial hate crime.

My understanding is that, under new federal guidelines, crimes against whites cannot be classified as "hate crimes" because they are not historical victims.

Unequal treatment and gangland attitudes like this are going to ignite a race war.

We get The Mark Belling Show here and I have listened for over 10 years. One day as I listened to Mark (fill in host for Rush),he said that the truth is black Americans are the most racist Americans there are. Despite that fact, white America is called racist on a continual basis. While most of us were raised to believe that people are people, and not to see race as an issue in judging character, many in the welfare state portion of the black community were being taught to hate white people. How sad. Say I tried walking through the welfare state neighborhoods that are 20 miles from my home, what are the odds I’d make it out unharmed, and not just at night, anytime. Now turn the tables. Have a welfare stater walk the streets where I live and the little town near me, chances are 100 percent he or she would be not only fine, but welcomed.
