Palin's Popularity in GOP Soars After Quitting
Cleveland Leader ^ | Wednesday, July 8, 2009

Posted on 07/08/2009 8:13:03 AM PDT by kristinn

Apparently Sarah Palin's decision to quit her post as Governor of Alaska wasn't as misguided as it sounded at first, because it has certainly already begun to work it's magic on winning over the Republican party. According to a new USA Today/Gallup Poll, her popularity has surged amongst Republicans since she made the announcement.

71 percent of Republicans said they would vote for Palin if she ran for president in 2012, and three-fourths believe that Palin has been treated unfairly by the media.

Two-thirds of Republicans want Palin to be "a major national political figure" in the future, while three-fourths of Democrats are hoping that she won't be. Independents by 55%-34% would prefer she leave the national stage.

Now you understand why Obama, the Democrats and the GOP fear Reagan conservatism. They all know anybody who possesses the formula has the ability to invoke a tidal wave that sweeps out all the Lefties and the squishy moderates out to sea to drown in their own misspent ideology.

This is getting fun.

Food for thought, especially for the “she's dead” detractors and such.

What is the hottest political topic of discussion in years right now, on both sides of the isle, and has been for almost a week (a lifetime in the world of 24 hour news)

Sarah Palin.

‘No one pulls Palin’s strings — she is a natural.’

Indeed. She has the power to say ‘NO’ to those who would try to use her. She is a very savvy woman.

someone brought up a good poinjt the other day- mainly that Sarah simply does not sound presidential, and people NEED someone who ‘sounds presidential’ and can rise above attacks on them instead of whining about them- Were the attacks unfair? Vicious? You-betcha- (and she needs to drop the cozy little ‘you-betcha’s and other cutsie terms from her speeches IF she wants to be taken seriously by hte public), but should she elevate herself above those morons who engage in such tactics? Again- You-betcha- IF she wants to be president.

They brought up another good point that while it ‘appears’ that she gets a lot of applause and hoots and hollars when she whines, and when she gives pat answers- we MUST remember, that those clapping are simply her fan-base at hte gathering. They said we should take a good hard look at her rhetorric beyond hte pat canned answers, and frankly, I don’t see much content- personal content- I saw her answers as calculated and canned, and she rteally needs to work on this IF she wishes to be president-

They brought up one other good point inthat she (and quite frankly, the GOP in general NEED to both SOUND presidential, AND give rousing messages of hope- because that IS what the peopel want- that’s what htey voted for (even though they knew full well they were electing someone who was goign to tax them to death- just his message of ‘hope and change’ was enough to get him elected)

The GOP MUST restructure their message, and htey MUST get someone dynamic enough to capture the public’s imagination and inspire hope- We are severely lackign in that department, and IF Sarah runs in her current unpresidential mode, the GOP will lose again (Unless America wakes the heck up and sees what a terror they elected to hte whitehouse- a tax-and-spend terror that is goign to ruin htis country and busiensses financially)

But it looks like every other Washington pundit including the usually spot-on Charles K from Fox News may have misread the tea leaves.

I thought Charles K's comments really showed his elitist attitude....and I have to disagree with the usually spot-on part...IMO he is one of the "balanced" Fox people.

I was pursing my mouth in distaste at him, the same way he was pursing his mouth in distaste at Sarah.

Sarah trumped their Alinsky move with the tried and true: "The hunted becomes the hunter."

Count me as a Sarah fan who thinks a Third Party is only a ‘last resort’ option. She can make the GOP come to her because of poll numbers like this. When she starts swinging some of the 2010 congressional races to the conservative candidates, the Rockefeller/McCain/RINO GOPers will be gone.

"At the very least someone will be speaking out bluntly about Obama’s daily ruining of our country.
The rest of them are busy with mistresses and corruption or Romney-peeps secretly trashing Palin."

BINGO

What the author leaves out about independents is that although 55-34 % prefer Palin to leave the national stage (for now) a full 44 % are ready to vote for her in 2012 along with 17% Democrats-—how’s that for starters 3 years out from election day?

If ACORN and 0bama and Alinsky tactics can magically overnight cause atleast three states to have 2 weeks of early voting with no state voting laws being enforced (Barney Rubble could have voted at my voting place) with ACORN promising young college kids a free lap-top in Ohio to go vote a straight DEMOCRAT party ticket...and various other college towns pimping the vote the same way with numerous first time voting college students voting way more than once... and 0bama STOLE military towns in yankee Fla. and the Norf. Va. area...

A STRONG conservative third party can and will emerge because the GOP is towing the same garbage as the democrats.
