A New York congressman says Michael Jackson was a "pervert" and calls on society to stop "glorifying" the late entertainer in a YouTube video.
Rep. Peter King said Jackson -- whom he called a "low-life" -- is being glorified in the days after his death while society ignores the efforts, of teachers, police officers, firefighters and veterans. In the two-minute video, King claims the "day in and day out" coverage of Jackson's death is "too politically correct."
"Let's knock out the psychobabble," King said in the video taped outside an American Legion Hall on New York's Long Island. "He was a pervert, a child molester; he was a pedophile. And to be giving this much coverage to him, day in and day out, what does it say about us as a country? I just think we're too politically correct."
King, a Republican who is among the possible contenders for the seat held by Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, said Jackson "may have been a good singer" and "did some dancing," but blasted the singer as someone who could not be trusted around children.
In 2005, Jackson was acquitted of molesting a boy who spent time at his Neverland ranch and appeared with him in the 2003 British documentary, "Living With Michael Jackson." The entertainer had been accused of plying the boy with alcohol and groping him.

You forgot drug addict.
I read a book about Jackson called “Freak”. After reading it , I was convinced that Jackson was a homosexual child molester. If he wasn’t so rich , he would have gone to jail.
Now that he is dead, all the gory details are emerging of how addicted he was to various drugs.
I wonder if OJ is ‘exonerated’ too? If I am not mistaken, it’s no lie to say that OJ is a murderer after he lost the lawsuit, right? [Not entirely sure myself.]
I guess you but into that “too politically correct” thing too.
That's the man. He is the symbol of Dim/race politics to me. If people can elect Barry, they had no problem giving the nod to someone like Zero.
Look all over the country at the cities in trouble. "Brother" politics is played by the Dims and by the blacks. They have enough poorly educated whites (products of their unions) and rarely educated blacks (facts, not hope and change), mixed with many who don't even want to learn English, to make things go their way. How do you think we have gotten here?
Race baiting and false guilt have given us a banana republic of our own!
I am hosting a visitor soon. He is coming from his home in Burkina Faso. His "President" was originally elected in the 80's. Since then, his country made it possible for him to be president for life. He killed many of his enemies, with his own hand. We all know Zero couldn't, but whose behind the screen?
I am thinking of moving there for a while. It seems a little safer, and the black people who live there don't know I'm not a friend, though I'm white! I can live like their king on $500 a month, with my own home and "servants". I can even drink wine, since it is a "moderate" Moslem country. They know I am Christian, as I constantly try to convert them to know their Savior, Jesus Christ. I won't (can't) give that up.
It's Africa, hot and sandy, friendly and mysterious. Goat isn't my favorite food, but I don't think I'll be able to feed any cows, there. I'm glad I like chicken.
I do.
And this case is a glaring example of it, no doubt.
Too bad there are so many fools out there who won't recognize it.
Thank you for clearing that up, woodbutcher. Hey, are you a lumberjack or a beaver? But on a more serious note? Darn, I have trouble being serious when I think about cookies and warm milk. “It’s charming. Charming.”
Well, he’s met the Almighty. Thank God I don’t have to judge him. FRegads ....
Perhaps you didn't see the television interview, and there may very well have been more than one, in which a 40-year-old Jackson admitted that he took little boys to his bed to sleep with him ... all the while looking hurt and shocked that society did not understand why this would be a bad thing. He admitted that he is a pervert by every measure we have in our society. What more do you want before you admit it as well? I'd be interested to know how quickly you would send your twelve-year-old son or nephew over to Jackson's home to spend a quiet weekend of snuggling.
Cutting off his nose. I have heard of cutting but that was beyond bizarre.
Well, that remains to be seen. I'm no lawyer but I don't think the family can sue on MJ's behalf.
Like I said, I wasn't trying to start an argument, I was just making an observation.
Oh, for many leftists, if you point out the elitism, they aren’t really bothered by it because they believe themselves to be part of the “elite”. Every single one of them from the president down to the hemp-stinkinest hippy marxist at your local juco thinks he’s “the elite”.
Oh you didn’t. But there are quite a few hasty posters here that assumed the wrong meaning of posts and attacked a couple of us. Disgusting trend here on FR.
Well, legally, yes you must. If he was cleared by a court of law, you continuing to call him a murderer is, theoretically, grounds for a defamation of character lawsuit.
I think they would be foolish to do that.
They have little to gain and a lot to lose.
Win or lose, a public trial about his perversions brings nothing but negative publicity and the estate income would be negatively impacted. And if they didn't win in a trial, MJ's reputation would be further and permanently tarnished.
This time around there is no doubt Congressman King could get a fair amount of people to support his observations about Jackson's perversions. Especially now that MJ isn't around with a stack of million dollar bills to buy their silence.
My answer to that question has always been YES.
I do NOT think he ever, ever had sexual contact with children. I do think that letting little boys sleep in the same room with him overnight was inappropriate in our society and, to be totally honest, if it were anyone else... I would most likely not feel the same.
But it was not someone else. It was Michael Jackson. The little boy who was beaten and used as a meal ticket by an abusive father and passive mother. A little boy who never had a childhood, was never led to believe he was loved like ALL children should have been. I think his idea of loving children was a whole lot different that most ppl have.
And I think it is weird that many Conservatives will always say that someone was totally acquitted when it is our side, but still keep a black clouds for others.
And finally, I would like to ask...
Out of the thousands of children who visited Neverland and the hundreds of kids who slept there, there were only two formal accusations made and charges filed. Why is it so easy to find him guilty rather than seeing these parents as opportunists?
And why is it that we hear of his bedroom and supposed ‘jesus juice’ but never talk about the rooms full of IV set ups and medical monitors for the sick children who went there? Or the trained medical staff? Or the tutors who were on staff for the sick kids who visited that were too sick to go to school? Or the full time trained kitchen staff to ensure that every kid, sick or not, got the proper diet? Or the specialist who were on staff to care for the animals in his zoo? Or the rooms and rooms of toys and games and the full size movie theater building so that every kid could play and have fun the way all kids should? Why do his detractors totally ignore all of his humanitarian work and focus on his plastic surgery work?
The guy was weird by ‘normal’ standards, no doubt. But I do not believe he was malicious or hurtful to children at all. I grew being a fan of MJ and was a fan until the day he died.
Sorry to ramble, but I kinda feel ... well, I think he would never ever ever never hurt a child. I think that his level of love and cherishing and affection to a child was pure and innocent of all sexual aspects.
Peace :)
Things need to be put in perspective. Jackson was a great dancer and made some really good songs and videos. He was a very good entertainer.
He was also a pervert, a child molester and mentally disturbed. Glorifying him the way the press and his sycophant fans are doing is disgusting.
He was an entertainer, not God.
Politicians can never keep their mouths shut, King is no exception
Oh, I don't know ... perhaps because it is refreshing to actually hear a member of our country's leadership speak the truth and identify the perverted freak that is being worshipped in the media as a cultural superhero. Children are being bombarded 24/7 with praise and adoration for this demented soul.
What King said about Jackson in no way diminishes or ignores the harm that is being done to this country by our out-of-control government. By your reasoning, our leaders shouldn't speak out against any other social or moral ill such as abortion or letting child molesters walk free after a slap on the wrist because they are perverting the Constitution with their legislative actions. The freak show that was Jackson's life needs to be denounced and demeaned by every single one of us, including our leaders. The truth, and frank discussion of what is true, is the best disinfectant against the sickness in our society.
"Honestly, his comments just keep the MJ death in the news a little longer or give the media ONE more aspect to talk about instead of covering what is actually happening, not that they need much of an excuse anyway."
What King had to say is simply not going to extend by one second the coverage that is currently being given to Jackson. The coverage is not going to wane until weeks after the autopsy results are released. That is a fact.
And by what standards, other than "normal" are we to measure?
The guy was a creep and a freak.
He was roughly the same age as me. Since he was a "celebrity" from a young age I got to watch him grow up ... sort of. The progression from a seemingly normal black kid, like dozens that I went to school with, to the lunatic that many of us knew and loathed was slow and gradual, but inexorable.
I think those folks who did let their kids stay overnight with him exercised spectacularly poor judgment. No way in hell I would have let my kid within 50 miles of the place.
And now, I've wasted far too much of my life on Wacko Jacko.
I myself find do not find anything redeeming or worth defending MJ and am rather surprised to see so many defending him here. (not you in particular)
Though he was not convicted by legal standards, I think it is pretty safe to say he was let off by star struck lib jury or in this particular case there was not enough evidence or they found an excuse not to convict. If he were tried in Simi Valley, I have no doubt the verdict would have been completely different.
It wasn't as though he was known by all of the beautiful women he could have no doubt had like many star in his position, not even one.
MJ was one twisted individual
