'Tea party' crowd boos Cornyn, denounces Washington

"You're the problem!" one crowd member hollered. "You voted for TARP," yelled another.

Boos interrupted Cornyn, who won his second term last year, after he said: "This is a day of celebration, the day we celebrate our Founders, who defied empires and declared their independence."

Yes, at least BO is honest about his contempt for the USA.

You are right about having a fill of corrupt and incompetent ‘Leaders’.

Funny thing (Pathetic as well) is that I think people are being numbed to it all, at least here in Mich. They seem to expect that any Detroit Black Pol is corrupt and this expectation appears to be infecting their expectations about Pols in general, regardless of Race. The actions of DC Pols simply reinforces this expectation.

As much as I would like to see serious, and I mean SERIOUS repercussions I’m afraid the bar has been lowered so much and this type of behavior has been so Mainstreamed that most will just hunker down and try to protect themselves rather than really mount an effort.

Hope I am wrong but that’s what I see. Instead of getting Pitch Forks, Torches and Ropes the response is a shrug and rolling of eyes.

Hope you are right about Hutchison. Maybe then the loving TV Media will get her off the stage for more than a few minutes. I have never seen a bigger Media Hog than she is.

I love sarah palin as a voice of the party and fundraiser. I don’t think she is electable as president though. She can help the party and the country in many other ways. I know its not a popular view around here, but we have to be honest to ourselves if we want a chance to win in 2012.

Don't ya’ll be fooled with all this secession talk and sovereignty talk outta Perry....he’z just positioning himself politically.

I don't think Perry is going to be re-elected. In addition to the points you made, there is the Giardasil scam he supported, and that is still fresh in peoples memories.

Before being co-opted by FOXNews and other MSM outlets as "anti-tax", the Tea Party Movement was a protest against a totally out of control government. The movement was started to get politicians to listen to US for a change. For the life of me I cannot understand why ANY Tea Party would invite ANY politician to speak.

In Tucson, initial estimates indicate about 5,000 plus people were in attendance. Law enforcement officers said that there was not a single disturbance. I guess we were just we were a bunch of right wing extremists abiding the law.

To keep cool, we just put instant shade on our heads. Anyway, it’s a dry heat here.

Yes, but he is like most politicians. See which way the wind is blowing before taking a stand.

I still don’t trust him after that HPV fiasco. What kind of conservative supports mandating that for young girls? Dumb.

Wouldn't you know it.... today, we had overcast skies, and the temp never got over 85. It was great for getting out and mowing my acre of grass, but it sure would have been nice to have the same weather yesterday.

Law enforcement officers said that there was not a single disturbance. I guess we were just we were a bunch of right wing extremists abiding the law.

I'm sure the reports are the same from all over the country.

I voted against Cornyn in Nov 2008. In order to avoid the Democrat candidate, I voted libertarian.

Cornyn complained that he just ‘squeaked by’ in regaining his seat....I think he knows why.

Cornyn and Perry both need their ears pinned. I’m on the road this weekend. Sorry I missed it.

"The Apr. 15 Austin Tea Party had thousands. This one has maybe 500. I hope this doesn't mean that the movement is losing steam,..."

Don't spend too much time staring at tea leaves:
picking July 4th weekend to have a "Tea Party," when many have family gatherings or vacation trips, was perhaps not the brightest bit of planning.
