Sarah Palin's resignation as Governor of Alaska is a brilliant liberating move for her career, and a potential turning point for the national conservative movement.
The biggest problem with her responsibility as Governor of Alaska is that the state is so far away from the rest of America. No one hears of the good work she has been doing there, and the left is free to paint their own false caricature of her.
...
I am hoping she spends two weeks of every month now touring the states doing fundraisers for a the sweeping Republican revival in 2010 that is now developing. I hope she establishes a new national grassroots organization to fight for conservative causes. And I hope she starts a new national think tank in Washington.
She could pick up the mantle for social conservatism for the late Paul Weyrich in Washington, reinvigorating the pro-life cause and defense of traditional values. She could advocate sane, grown up energy policies through these organizations, favoring increased production of traditional as well as alternative energy, including nuclear power, while opposing fruitcake ideas like cap- and-trade taxes, and runaway corporate welfare that would bring back Jimmy Carter's synfuels. She should also lead the nation's mothers to oppose mandating replacement of incandescent light bulbs with the new mercury poison gas bulbs.

C'mon Sarah, do your thing. We're all waiting.
bump
in a few more post we will be informed as to what an idiotic decision Palin made
5 4 3 2 1
As long as her career isn’t in holding future political office.
This would be the only sane reason for her to resign, besides being sick of the attacks on her family.

The key for her (and any small govt person) to remember is that they are going to rake her over the coals NO MATTER WHAT SHE DOES in the MSM.
So her decisions should never be based on turning the MEDIA around. They are going to try to spin this has her quitting and not capable. But if she stayed, she would be attacked as crazy, corrupt, stupid etc etc.
She is making a tactical gamble that it is better for her to be in the national arena to combat the attacks vs staying in Alaska and being tied down. She gains “experience” but gets bashed like a pinada while she gains it.
She picked not being a pinada.
I hope so. We need someone to be our very visible champion!

I’ll ditto that!
Go, Sarah!
It took a total of six seconds!
Next she should go down to Honduras and meet with the constitutional government. Then praise their efforts to protect the constitution and compare that to what is happening in America.
I was even surprised.
We sure are waiting. Does anyone have a ping list for Sarah on here? I will be glad to start one if no one has a list or join the list if someone has already started one.
One right below your post — didn’t take long!
As long as your career isn't in predicting the future, jerk. You made your case yesterday, not well, and not convincingly, but laughable. Now go back to your smarmy Romney headquarters and tell them that Romney, nor any other mainline Republican candidate will fare well this cycle. Yeah, I know you said you weren't for Romney. I guess I didn't believe a word you had to say.
“She could pick up the mantle for social conservatism for the late Paul Weyrich...”
I hadn’t heard that he had passed away. A good man.
Get a life, sweetie.
Very well said. You nailed it! One thing about Sarah is that she will never change for the media. What you see is what you get which is what we need instead of all the spin we usually get from candidates.
Sarah is not Ivy League or from the East Cosst which IMHO puts her at the top. She shares another thing with President Reagan — Journalism.
Her announcement made this 4th of July a whole lot better.
That was one good countdown - you must be the one who predicted MJ would be the next to die!
