Senator defends U.S. overthrow of Zelaya. DeMint, a conservative Republican, described Zelaya as a "dictator in the style of Chavez," referring to Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez
Senator Jim DeMint on Thursday defended the toppling of Honduran President Manuel Zelaya, said that now is still the rule of law in the Central American country.
Zelaya was overthrown by a military coup, after ignoring an order from the supreme court, seeking to avoid a constitutional reform, which according to many Hondurans, was to allow for re-election.
DeMint, a conservative Republican, Zelaya described as a "dictator in the style of Chavez," referring to Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez.
The senator said in a statement that Zelaya made fun of the constitutional authority of Congress and the Honduran Supreme Court.
He added that the call of President Barack Obama to restore the post to Zelaya represents' an affront to the people of Honduras. "
On Wednesday, Roberto Micheletti, the president of Honduras, Chavez blamed the crisis facing Honduras.
Chavez said Thursday night that does not intervene in the internal affairs of Honduras, but cooperate for a return to stability after the coup.
"We are not an interventionist government. We are obliged to respect Honduras, but we are in the process along with other countries and multilateral agencies, doing everything we can to avoid bloodshed," said Chavez in a special edition of its program radio and television "Hello, President."
Chavez lamented that in this class struggle, the Honduran soldiers have succumbed to the pressures and the "manipulation" that the bourgeoisie has continuously exercised over them, making them emerge from the military people face against the sovereign. "
He stated that one of the culprits that the Honduran military has taken that attitude is the influence of United States armed forces in Honduras.
"They (United States) infiltrated our country and especially in Central America," he said.
"The Honduran soldiers have been handled from an early age. I put a cassette, the capitalist society is driving, and then exploit them to make soldiers' children that go to the poor against the poor. So we made the rich to us , driving the poor to stabbed the mother, "he said.
He added that the clash between soldiers and people "is over and will never happen in the homeland of Simón Bolívar, and hope it will not ever spend more in our America."
Micheletti said the day before that "the intervention of Chavez is clearly defined in this situation in Honduras."
Since its inauguration in 2006 Zelaya quickly became an ally of Chavez and his country last August joined the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas which include Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, Bolivia and Dominica.

The Cuban-American Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen said "the Honduran military respected the Constitution to remove from power the president Jose Manuel Zelaya.
Congress decided, unanimously, "unlikely" to Zelaya "for his apparent misconduct" and for "repeated violations of the Constitution and the law and disregard of orders and judgments of the institutions," he said.
He told Radio Martí that the military forces of Honduras' respected the Constitution to remove from power Zelaya.
"It's the right decision. We have no details yet, but everything indicates that the actions were taken under the Constitution. Zelaya wanted to do what was beyond the Constitution (...) Hopefully this is a brake on the actions of other governments that want to act in an undemocratic manner, "he said.
He expressed "growing concern" about Obama's policy of support in the crisis to Zelaya of Honduras, a lawmaker who felt as close to Hugo Chávez of populism.
"The facts are in dispute," he said. "But it has been an apparent attempt to discern the truth from the U.S. about the state of constitutional and democratic order in that country before coming to conclusions and issue summary convictions based on fragmented information.
Zelaya said that the crisis began more than three months when summoned by an executive order to extend its consultation presidential term, despite the "clear limits" of the Honduran constitution on presidential terms and parameters for a referendum.
Still, he said, "United States seemed to embrace unconditionally plans Zelaya.
WE need YOU freedom loving american to help us fight for our democracy, our constitution and the rule of law. So spread the word of the real situation and don't forget us in the next tea parties.

Zelaya tried to pull a Chavez and the people of Honduras didn’t allow him to get away with it.
Would that we should do so well should it be necessary.
Viva Honduras.

Better a constitutional removal and exile of a tyrant than letting it get to the point that the ground needs to be watered with the blood of patriots.
But zer0 doesn’t believe in that “constitutional” stuff, does he?

Exactly. This needs to be repeated over and over. It was a constitutional removal from office. When you have both the legislature and the Supreme Court calling for the removal, it is not a coup.
