Sarah Palin, New Party ?????

Like many here, I am a political prognosticator. I followed Sarah Palin here for almost 2 years and told friends last May if McCain only chance is to pick Palin. So what does Sarah Palin's latest move mean?

Long time, no see (Terry Schiavo threads). Your graphics are still the best! :-)

You were a HuckaBot, weren’t you?

As usual making it up, nope, never have been. But you are a Romney troll and that just sucks.

Gingrich endorsing the lies undergirding cap and trade--a truth inconvenient to his political viability.

Interesting that she went to college in Hawaii, too...

Pretty sure Palin went to the U of Idaho, not anywhere in HI.

I wouldn’t mind a new party.

Republicans poisoned their own well.

If that is the case, then she'll have to form a party organization, and that will take at least two years to do this. The smaller parties that exist today, the Conservative and Libertarian Parties, might work, but their national clout is effectively zero. In the end, I think it's the GOP nomination Palin is aiming at, rather than to boost a third party.

Or is she running at all? Perhaps as the leader of a movement independent of any entanglements, she can get the conservative point of view out. She can drum up enthusiasm — we know that and that's why the Democrats hate her so much — and she won't have an office to be tied to.

As for the claims that “she didn't finish what she started,” neither did Senator Obama.

You miss the point on 4, counterpoint.

If it was a Dem house and a Reb Senate with all officers the bottom line they were volunteers and are "get-r-done" people, vs. the 535 blowhards we have now.

Messr Kerry the only thing he can get done is muck things up and marry up....

I think the new party #1 should be called the America party with adherents simply called the Americans. I’m not trying to be funny! By suggesting the name, I am proposing that there would necessarily be formed a cognitive dissonant fissure in the minds of the media and the other traditional parties. It would be DEMPUB’s against the Americans as the arguements and debates would develop over time in most folks minds.

Number 2, to borrow from Alinsky, the first thrust should be to isolate, freeze and personalize the two
main parties combining them into one giant party in our speeches and conversations. They are in my mind the DEMPUB party. The AMERICA party encompasses every one else.

#3: The America party platform would advocate reversion to strict constitutional norms as folks understood those norms prior to 1913, other than women’s right to vote and constitutional limits on presidential/congressional service. I would like to see congressional terms limited to not more than 4 terms and senate terms not more than 2 terms. It was a mistake in my view that senators should have been allowed to serve 6 years and I would like to see that changed to mirror the presidential term of service(4 years). It would allow clean sweeps of the congress/senate every 4 to 8 years and political dynasties would not be as long lasting or dominating(read prone to corruption)!

You can believe that if you want. Then you can examine the Catholic "flip flop" ~ Catholic voters tended to vote more Democrat than they had in recent years.

There are a lot of Catholic voters.

The same phenomenon happened with black voters, and with Hispanic voters.

We even had a surge of union voters moving out of the Republican orbit into that of the Democrats.

The total number of voters was simply not outside the bounds of historic results.

It's not that MORE DEMOCRATS showed up, but that more Catholics, blacks, hispanics and union members voted Democrat rather than Republican.

The GOP is dead, get over it so you can move on. “That's the way it is”.

It is a very different world now in need of different solutions.

If Sarah does form a third party I will be the 1st in line. Eff the GOP.

At the same time, more Democrat voters came out than ever had in any election in history. Many of these were non-voters who became voters for the first time.

Funny, I thought it was all the fraud perpetrated by the ACORN groups.

Actually, you form a new party that's prepared to win and displace one of the previously established parties.

If you are not prepared to win across the board, then you have to put up with the pukes in the old party you are seeking to abandon.

The basic idea in forming a new party is always to cleanse your own political environment of deviants ~ at the moment the Republican party has a lot of deviants who need shed. If we really wanted to lurch to the left and vote for Democrat BS we'd just vote for Democrats.

Fraud by the 10s of millions?
I find that hard to believe.
As they say, “you can’t steal an election that isn’t close.”

The greater part of the Democrat campaign was given over to running against the Bush "caricature" they'd created.

This next time around we get to run against the Obama "caricature" the Democrats will have created.

It's a good time to WIN.

I also believe we have to get tough on the question of whether or not Democrat politicians can be patriotic. Over the past 64 years it's become pretty obvious they do not have that capacity. They are also unable to stand up to criminals, and given the opportunity they steal. Those who aren't openly homosexual are, in their private lives, at least abnormal. They bribe judges; molest babies; rape young girls; harrass their neighbors; pass taxes that favor their friends and relatives; seek to destroy the rights of the religious to practice their faith in their own way; and, in general, have created such a sordid situation at Interstate highway rest stops that good, decent, honest people who need merely to relieve themselves are fearful of stopping. Even the waterfountains in such places are no longer safe to drink from.

Yes but does ‘not liberal’ describe the Republican party? I don’t think so anymore.
